I was very excited to stay at the Edelweiss because I had heard good things from my mom, but it has been a long time since she stayed there. We arrived and the outside was nice so we were optimistic, but when we checked in the woman at the front desk wasn’t wearing a mask as didn’t seem to care to and started our stay off on a sour note. When we got to our room, it was obvious that it wasn’t sanitized. The sheets were changed and bed was made, but the bathroom wasn’t vacuumed or cleaned and the dusty surfaces obviously weren’t wiped down between guests. We asked for a new room and they kindly gave us one, but the new room wasn’t much better and we ended up wiping it all down ourselves with disinfectant. During a pandemic, I expect a hotel to at the very least clean as they advertise on their website, but unfortunately it didn’t seem this was the case and didn’t feel safe.
The only upside of this stay was the fire pit. It was nice to be able to gather with people in a safe outside setting and still get to meet people also staying there. If they start cleaning properly, I would recommend staying here. Until then, take your own disinfectant!
