About this property

River Views | Private Hot Tub | Ash Treehouse

  • Tucked into the forest with views of the Union River, The Ash is a classic Maine camp with modern comforts.

It sleeps four: a queen bedroom suite with its own bathroom, plus a queen bed in the loft. A wall of windows brings in the light, and a large screened porch and 1.5 miles of forest trails are just outside the door. Private and wooded among the trees, and still close to Ellsworth and Acadia National Park.

Inside, the compact kitchen has an induction cooktop, a mini-oven, and a dishwasher, along with a pour-over setup and organic Maine-roasted ground coffee. There`s a wood stove and a heat pump, a washer-dryer, a desk, fiber internet, a smart projector and screen, and games for a rainy afternoon. Beds are made up with cotton Oeko-Tex linens and towels, the kitchen and bath are stocked with Public Goods products, and heat lamps warm the spots just outside the tiled showers.

Outside, there`s the screened porch, a private year-round hot tub, a smokeless fire pit, a propane grill, and plenty of seating, plus a hammock from April through October. Parking is right at the cabin, with a J1772-compatible EV charger.

The Ash`s design isn`t suitable for pets, though many of our other Arbor Camp places are dog-friendly.

A note on access: the loft is reached by a ship`s ladder, which may not suit small children or guests with mobility concerns. Please reach out before booking with any specific needs -- glad to talk them through.

Whether the plan is adventures in Acadia or a few quiet days of rest by the river, The Ash is ready to give you shelter.

Current rates reflect a discount while Arbor Camp grows, and you may occasionally see or hear construction elsewhere on the grounds.

By booking, you agree to the house rules, including those on pets, damage, and smoking.

    HOT TUB GUIDELINES
    • Please shower before using the hot tub.
    • No glass or breakables in or near the tub.
    • Cover the tub when not in use to retain heat and keep out debris.
    • Children must be supervised in or around the hot tub at all times.
    • Use care when entering and exiting; surfaces may be slippery.

    FIREWOOD & FIRE PITS
    • Shorter logs are for indoor wood stoves (seasonal use).
    • Longer logs are for outdoor fire pits.
    • Fire-starting materials and instructions are provided.

You MUST open a window before lighting a fire indoors. A fire extinguisher is located in the kitchen area.

Observe any posted local burn restrictions.

    QUIET HOURS
Quiet begins at 10:00 PM to preserve the stillness of the woods and the comfort of all guests.

    TOWELS & BEDDING
Extra towels are provided in the bedroom closet.

    CHILDREN & FAMILIES
Families are welcome. Please bring your own portable crib or pack-and-play, as we do not provide these due to insurance reasons.

    SMOKING
Smoking is permitted outdoors only. Please dispose of materials safely.

Smoking or vaping inside any cabin or treehouse is not permitted.

If indoor smoking or vaping results in odor, residue, or damage, guests are responsible for the actual cost of cleaning, deodorizing, repair, or replacement, plus a 10% administrative fee. If remediation requires the unit to be taken offline, documented lost revenue may also be charged.

    PETS
Select units welcome well-behaved dogs. Dogs must be leashed outdoors and may not use beds or upholstered furniture. We are happy to provide a dog bed upon request.

By paying the pet fee(s), you also agree that dogs will not be on beds or upholstered furniture, and that you will not use the shower or bathroom to bathe your dog. If evidence shows a dog has been on beds or furniture or been bathed in the bathroom (including excessive hair, stains, or odor), a $120 additional cleaning fee will be charged. If remediation exceeds $120, guests remain responsible for the documented actual cost.

Dogs must not be left barking in the unit. Sound carries across the property and other cabins. A dog that barks when left alone needs to come along.

    KEEP INDOOR THINGS INDOORS
Blankets, pillows, the projector and screen, and indoor furniture are not to be left outside. Weather and wildlife ruin them fast. If you bring something out for the evening, bring it back in before you turn in or head out.

    EXTRA CLEANING
Guests are expected to leave the kitchen, grill, cookware, and premises in reasonable condition.

If extraordinary cleaning is required beyond standard turnover — including excessive food waste, heavily soiled cookware, or misuse of the grill — an additional charge of up to $150 may apply. If costs exceed $150, guests are responsible for the documented actual cost.

    FIRE SAFETY & EMERGENCIES
A fire extinguisher and first aid kit are provided in each unit.
For emergencies, dial 911 and provide the property address listed in your arrival information.

The Ash treehouse at Arbor Camp was by the far the best get away we could have asked for. Close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor but outside all of the hustle and bustle of that area. The treehouse was incredible with so much attention to detail in its construction making you feel like you were still in the woods but with all the modern amenities.Rachel, the host, was quick to respond to any questions and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could need before we even thought of it.We will absolutely be back to enjoy this amazing space again!
