“We were lucky to choose this property. The house is spacious, great to experience a more traditional type of accommodation. Location is on a network of small streets with restaurants and cafes throughout. Nearby to shopping district, river and 20 min walk to Kyoto station.”

“The location is quite good. Since it is located near the hot spot, it is very convenience for buying and eating. The hotel is alos quite near to the bus and train station. The environment is quiet and the experience of living there is great. The staff is helpful when I am in trouble and this is a hotel that I will strongly recommended if staying in Kyoto.”

“Great little property to stay in and close enough to all the action in Gion”

“We had a fantastic time here. Our host greeted us upon arrival and asked if we would like to participate in an authentic tea ceremony. We got dressed in provided outfits, and the kids loved making matcha tea with the host. We loved the two levels, the indoor and outdoor baths, and the washing machine (kids use up a lot of clothes). “Très belle maison. Mais manque d’information sur place pour le wifi. Pas de code internet communiqué. Impossible d’utiliser la salle de bain car il n’y a pas d’eau chaude !!! Ou bien les explications manquent en anglais pour utiliser les équipements assez tech. Dommage! Le contact avec la réception est très difficile car il faut y aller en taxi et une fois arrivé on ne trouve pas la réception. Il faut demander à plusieurs commerçants du quartier où se trouve le loueur de guest house… c’est une……

“Beautiful traditional machiya very close to transit and walkable to many places. Laundry on the corner and grocery around the block. The stairs to the second floor were quite steep and the first floor could have used some more furniture, but really no real complaints ”

“Had an absolutely lovely stay at this home. Mr Tanaka welcomed us warmly and provided us with every amenity you can think of, including delicious snacks and breakfast foods. We loved the sweet neighborhood, away from the tourist scrum. There are buses and trains to major tourist attractions that are convenient. Altogether very fun to stay in a traditional style home. ”
