Classy and modern at the same time

Due to a mistake in our hotel booking in Freiburg, we had to go to Emmendingen to find (reasonable) rooms (there was a football match in town, and everything was booked). 10 minute by train, and a short taxi ride, so not too far, can actually be recommended to any visit to Freiburg. A beautiful hotel, family-run, very nice people. Room was modern, spacious and clean, a very good standard. Classic interior, but modern feel to everything in the hotel. An amazing restaurant, where we had a delicious four-course dinner ("Herbst-Menü", seasonal choice). They even have local schnaps from the region, as well as great wine. The town itself (Maleck, a suburb to Emmendingen) is quiet, the hotel bar is the local place where people meet. A great breakfast, with most thinkable options included (as far as German breakfast goes). Even champagne was served. We had a problem with our booking, as we had been booked in for two nights instead of one (my mistake). The reception staff were extremely helpful in sorting this out, and I received a full refund for the second night. Highly recommended if you want to be close to the Black Forest, but want to stay in a nice and comfortable place.

Fantastisch

Het was super Wij hebben hier 2 dagen gesplapen omdat we verder de hele dag in het europapark verbleven. Ontbijt super alles wat je nodig hebt. En El mexicana echt een ander super goed eten niet duur en dichtbij... Mooie kamers super vriendelijke mevrouw.

Schöne ruhige Anlage

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel, hatten ein schönes grosses Zimmer, grosses Bad, Hier in Maleck ist es sehr ruhig, man ist mitten in der Natur. Sehr gut gefallen hat uns das Essen auf der Terrasse it tollem blick in den kleinen Park. Der Service war sehr freundlich und hervorragend. Das Frühstück fanden wir ausgezeichnet.

Unfreundlich, im Niedergang

Ein Haus im deutlichen Niedergang. Es besteht ein erheblicher Instandhaltungsrückstau. Es wird scheinbar nur noch herumgebastelt. Unfreundliche Chefin. Das Essen im Restaurant ist gut, jedoch nicht innovativ. Seit vielen Jahren feiern wir als Familiengruppe immer zur gleichen Zeit dort den Geburtstag der "Oma" - die Eheleute Bergner (Hotel-Inhaber) finden noch nicht einmal ein freundliches Wort für die Jubilarin.
