The room was very clean, but did have a musty smell. Parking was ok and free. Room was very dark, only windows were behind the bed and in bathroom. The heat was not on in our room when we checked in at 7:30 pm. Took awhile to warm up. Plenty of room to move around. Would stay again.

Everything you need in a motel room… refrigerator with a freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, TV with lots of chanels to choose from. Great location near the beach with beautiful sunset views. The room is very clean and the owners are very friendly and accommodating! Will definitely be making this our go to when we are near North East PA!

A lovely family owns and runs this hotel. They are updating with new amenities. The only complaint is carpet squares left black fuzz on your feet however was easily removed with wash cloth. They were very accommodating with any needed supplies for the room. We rented the King Bedroom which had 5 foot frig and 2 burners and all kitchen supplies of bowls and plates and silverware. The bathroom was spotless and redone. Just bring slippers and all will be fine. We stayed 4 nights and it is in lovely area. Bring your bikes to ride around wine vineyards and Presque Island State Park is a 30 minute drive . We enjoyed visiting several wineries in the area as well. Thank you for a lovely visit!

Best motel ever

This is the nicest motel with the nicest owner I’ve ever been to. Very clean, beds were very comfy. The kitchenette was a huge plus for us. All the utensils and kitchenware were clean. I spent weeks trying to decide what place to book cause all the ones in the city are rated so low. Then I found this and I couldn’t believe the rating so low had to book it and now I see why it’s rated so high.

Liked the clean and spacious room. The owners were very nice, and very accomodating. Only suggestion I would have is to replace the double beds with queen beds when they wear out. It can be tight for 2 people sharing a bed with a double.

My stay was brief as I hadn't realized how far from where I needed to be the Motel was, so I had to change after two days. While there I found the Motel to be very comfortable. The owners were more than understanding, were wonderful people to work with. I liked the country feeling. A very nice place to stay at.

We stayed at Colonial Motel for 2 nights. The room was very clean. We particularly appreciated a kitchenette equipped with a pot, frying pan, plates, cups, and utensils. A table with two chairs is very handy. The owner is very hospitable. The price is very reasonable for what you get.

It was in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The family who owns it was very accommodating and pleasant to talk to. We will definitely look at them first next time we stay in Erie.

A family owned old-style motel, updated. You definitely feel that you are welcome and guests at a B&B. The unit has a kitchenette with the necessary supplies, WIFI, and door-front parking. Beds were comfortable and clean. The only real negative other than some issues with the room being dated, was a general feeling and smell of dampness (although it was summer and just off a lake), but the AC was efficient and minimized that.

Room # 5 was a nice size for my family of 4. It was furnished with 2 full beds and comfortable couch that can be viewed online. The fridge was full sized, and the kitchenette was nicely equipped. We ate out most of the weekend, but it was nice to have a light breakfast with coffee, or a bedtime snack. Once we figured out the shower, the hot water & pressure was wonderful after a long day of driving. I would consider Colonial Motel for another stay when we visit Erie in the future.

I've honestly never been to a more cozy motel. The rooms were nice size, there was a cute kitchenette with everything you need provided including pots and pans and a fridge/freezer. The couple that owns it are friendly, kind, and very helpful. The room was cleaned than any more expensive hotel I've stayed at. Highly recommend. We would definitely stay here agay

What a great little find I came across. Minutes away from town, so many wineries in the area, and close to the Beachglass Inn where we were attending a wedding. Easy checkin with Lou; room was clean, updated, and a good size. Beds were very comfortable and having a kitchenette for sips and snacks was fantastic! Would stay here again and again.

I have stayed at The Colonial Motel on a couple previous occasions so was familiar with it when I booked a 2 night stay in June 2025. The Motel is a Mom and Pop independent type operation. It is an L shaped one floor facility with exterior individual room entrances where you can park your vehicle directly outside your room door for convenient access and for loading and unloading belongings. The building is an older structure, dating back to at least the 1970's but any room that I have stayed in here is clean and appears to have been renovated. My room featured a large mini fridge, microwave, gas burner cooktop, sink, and cabinets, so is handy for anyone preparing simple meals. Cable TV with a wide variety of channels and complimentary wireless internet was also included. I found my room to be spacious, quiet, and comfortable and plan to continue to lodge at this motel on future visits.
