Being on Volcán Fuego as it erupted was one of the coolest adventures of my entire life! 20 feet from flowing lava just may be the top experience of my life. If you are in Guatemala and whether you consider yourself a hiker or not, climbing Pacaya is a must. I would even consider going multiple times because the mountain changes on a daily basis (even second by second). Where you hike one day may be covered by lava flows then next day and you'd have to take a completely different route. Try looking in a crater if allowable on that day,
