Gorgeous place!

Absolutely stunning place, beautifully managed by Said. All the rooms were beautiful and the pool absolutely amazing - the kids had a wonderful time. We got massages at the house and used the hammam, plus were cooked for by Said's wonderful wife, whose name I'm so sorry but have forgotten. Warm, friendly and unforgettable.

Amazing stay!

Wonderful stay, Patrick was always there to give advice before we arrived. The villa was beautiful rural but an oasis behind the gates. Said was on hand all the time for anything we needed, exceptional host. Plenty of space for all 10 of us, the tortoises were a joy Without hesitation i would return!inheartbeat

Perfect Oasis

This property is incredible. Patrick was quick to respond to my (many!) messages and the property itself has everything you need for a perfect relaxing villa holiday. There are so many little places to relax (the hammock, terrace, sun loungers, games room, hammam etc) that even as a group of 7 adults + baby it was easy to find a quiet spot at any time of the day. Every inch of the place is beautiful and full of interesting items and artwork. Then of course there is the wonderful housekeeper Said who was there to welcome us on day one and helped us with so many things: excursions, masseuses to visit the villa(!), restaurant reservations etc.. He was so friendly and welcoming (despite the fact we could hardly speak French!) and he only showed up on request or very discreetly to take the bins out etc, so never got in our way or invaded our privacy. He was such an asset to us visiting Morocco for the first time and we can’t thank him enough. I have dropped one star for the location of the property because you absolutely need a car if you want to leave the villa, I wouldn’t recommend attempting to go anywhere on foot as all you will find is dry dusty tracks. If you want cafes on your doorstep then this property is not for you, but if you’re looking to truly unwind, swim, sleep, and spend quality time with friends or family then this place is perfect. La maison de Patrick est encore plus belle en vrai que sur les photos: jardin enchanteur et très soigné, magnifiques terrasses, merveilleux patio, studio, belle et grande piscine et le joyeux coin pétanque ... Même à 10, on ne se marche pas dessus. Maison très agréable avec sa décoration locale qui recèle des trésors des artistes d'Essaouira, en une semaine on n'arrive pas à tout voir! Saïd et Samira sont charmants et aux petits soins. Pas grand chose à faire dans les environs immédiats et la route d'accès peut surprendre mais Essaouira et son marché aux poissons ainsi que le quartier des artisans et le souk ont plu à tous. Plages, quad, promenades à cheval, surf et excursions ... Les activités ne manquent pas. Nous recommandons vivement!!! Merci Patrick pour ce super séjour !

Séjour d'une semaine en famille.Température idéale, la maison est très chaleureuse , on s'y sent chez soi. Samira a été aux petits soins pour nous, chaleureuse et d'humeur égale, un vrai plaisir et un plus pour notre séjour.Nous avons pu faire concilier activités à Essaouira et activité sur place (piscine-partie de pétanques). Riad typique et accueillant

Un gite tres agréable, personnalisé qui a servi de cadre à nos retrouvailles familiales. Nous nous y sommes sentis comme chez nous. La variété des pieces, leurs decorations culturellement si riches, la piscine et nos amies les tortues ont permis un séjour pour petits et grands enthousiasmant. Les petits dejeuners de Samira et ses plats marocains resteront dans nos mémoires ainsi que la gentillesse et la disponibilité de Said. Honneur aux dames en particulier à Samira, qui incarne la bonté, la gentillesse, et la bienveillance. Sa cuisine est tout simplement exceptionnelle, me rappellant celle de ma mère. Said, quant à lui est une personne très gentille, toujours prête à repondre à nos questions et nous apporter son aide. Patrick, le propriétaire est vraiment disponible et bienveillant , il a su nous guider et nous conseiller à distance. La Maison est magnifique, son jardin nous a émerveillés tout au long de notre sejour . La maison typique est non seulement accueillante, confortable, paisible, bien decoree et équipée mais un lieu culturel en soi. Chacun y a trouvé son bonheur que ce soit dans le jardin fleuri qui invite au bain de soleil, au repos, á la petanque, á la pisciine, á la lecture de nombreux ouvrages tous les plus interessants que les autres invitant á la decouverte des differentes facette de cette merveilleuse ville et de sa culture dont on tomberait vite amoureux. Vous serez reçu aux petits soins. C est un point de départ interessant pour visiter la côte Atlantique et profiter de ces belles plages, surf, coucher de soleil, les poissons fraichement péchés...les marchés typiques...un vrai bonheur. Nous avons passé 2 semaines incroyables, la maison est fabuleuse : typique, dépaysante, très agréable avec pleins de petits coins repos, les tortues ont fait le bonheur de nos enfants. L'organisation de notre arrivée et de notre départ était impeccable, tellement agréable de se laisser porter.. 😊. Said est tellement gentil et disponible, il se plie en 4 pour vous faire plaisir. Excellent séjour!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour entre amis dans la maison de Patrick. La villa est spacieuse et même si nous étions 5, nous avions tous notre chambre et notre petit coin de sérénité! De nombreux espaces pour se poser, lire ou rêvasser.. nous avons pris tous nos repas sur l’espace terrasse dans une très bonne ambiance générale, en profitant des oiseaux et des tortues du magnifique jardin. L’espace piscine a lui aussi été fort apprécié! Nous avons fait des parties de pétanque, de fléchettes, de cluedo.. il y a vraiment de quoi s’occuper dans la maison elle même! Saïd a été à nos petits soins et a géré certains repas, et les réservations d’activités.. un vrai plus. Les tajines de Samira sont un délice! En bref, des vacances réussies dans une maison pleine de charme et dans une très belle région. Un grand merci à Patrick pour toutes ses recommendations! On espère revenir bientôt!

Notre séjour chez Patrick était parfait de notre arrivée à notre départ. Nous avons accueillit à bras ouvert par Said et Patrick avec une visite et une délicieuse tajine a notre arrivé préparé par Said. Une maison artistique pleine de couleurs et de décorations vous vous y sentirez comme chez vous ! Un large choix de musiques CD et vinyles sont a disposition, nous avons pu découvrir et redecouvrir des chansons, de quoi oublier nos playlists le temps d'un séjour. Ein toller Ort seinen Urlaub zu verbringen

Wir (8 Personen zwischen 24 und 59 Jahren) waren 15 Tage im Dar Elwan. Morgens bekamen wir ein traditionell marokkanisches Frühstück serviert und Abends wurden unsere Essenswünsche berücksichtigt (z.B. vegetarisch) und ein hervorragendes Menü auf den Tisch gezaubert. Des weiteren kümmerten sich Samira & Said um den gesamten Haushalt und gaben uns wertvolle Tipps. Zudem war die Kommunikation mit Patrick sehr angenehm. Besonders gefallen haben uns die 15 Schildkröten im Garten, sowie das Hamam und die wunderschöne Dachterasse.

A little paradise

We spent a nice week with some friends at Dar Alwan. We enjoyed the beautiful garden with a lot of possibilities to relax, the terass on top to feel the last sun-rays of theday. We like the colourful house in morrocan style. Said, the house keeper, was looking forward to us and fulfilled nearly every wish. We hope to come back soon!

My family had a wonderful stay at Patricks home which is an authentic and well designed property full of beautiful decor throughout. All the things you need are available including great kitchen, multiple living/seating and dining areas inside and out, a beautiful large garden and the enclosed wall surrounding the property gives you a very secluded feeling. There's a lovely large roof area with seating and good sized private pool which we all spent lots of time to cool down and relax during the day. Bedrooms are spacious and beds comfortable. The property is also located very close to local conveniences and Essaouira is only a short drive/taxi away. What made the stay very special was Said who was always available to help organise activities and provide his local knowledge and advice of places to go and Samira who cooked us breakfast and meals (great tagine dishes!!) when we were in for the evening. We highly recommend Patricks place and would love to return for another stay.
