1 hour from Paris, exceptional cottage in the heart of an authentic village bordered by the majestic river Marne. Set in the enclosed park of an old 13th century abbey, spacious with its cathedral ceiling and its bay windows overlooking the park, flooded with light, haven of peace and serenity it combines comfort and elegance. On 70 m2, it consists of a large room and kitchen area and a large bedroom, a shower room and a separate toilet. Internet, television, garage. The region enjoys an exceptional cultural, historical, architectural and natural heritage with its churches, the museum of the birthplace of Jean de la Fontaine, the treasure museum of the Hôtel Dieu de Château-Thierry. It is a Mecca of War Memorial tourism from 14-18 with notably Belleau-Wood, the Monument of the Cote 204. The hillsides that border the Marne valley are planted with vines that produce particularly famous Champagne.

Prima vakantiewoning. Leuke ontvangst waarbij het enthousiasme van de eigenaar over bovenstaande schrijver inspireerde tot de lectuur over hem, daar voorhanden. We hebben ons er goed gevoeld; veel gezien en het was telkens prima om weer in de woning terug te komen.

Fijne woning. Alles is er aanwezig, de ligging is ideaal en je vindt er de nodige rust. De gastheer is gereserveerd, maar vriendelijk en correct. Qua hygiëne kan er nog aan het huisje gewerkt worden (sanitaire voorzieningen, keukengerei).

Very neat old house in the garden of the abbey and next to the house of the property owner. Very warm welcome, great parking spot for the car and walking distance to the local boulangerie and shops. Good location for champagne wine tours. The towns (Essome-sur-Marne as well as Chateau-Thierry) are not as lovely as the small villages on the Montagne de Reims. Great walking routes in the area with lots of WWI and WWII historical sites.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par le propriétaire, la cheminée était allumée à notre arrivée. Le cottage est très bien situé, près de l'autoroute A4, d'Epernay et de Reims. Il est situé au pied des vignes propice à de belles balades. Le cottage est bien équipé et entretenu. Un beau petit nid douillet pour des soirées romantiques.

Tout est fourni dans ce gite très bien rénové ( savons, gel douches, linge de maison, lampe de poche, etc...) vous êtes comme à l'hôtel, avec l'avantage d'une cuisine en plus et d'un jardin privé attenant à un beau parc auquel vous avez accès. Le seul bémol concerne la luminosité excessive de la chambre pendant la nuit, et ce malgré les rideaux occultants.
