This is a nice place to stay while in Arcata: centrally located and charming. It is a bit basic, but has a good deal of old world charm in an otherwise funky, hippy, fun town.

The experience of staying on the square in Arcata is so fun but only stay if you go in expecting a lot of noise and partying. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. It's great to walk out to the market on Saturday morning and the 2:00 a.m. noise is a lot but it's a great place to stay.

It was how you would consider a historic hotel to be. It was charming, but old. The plumbing didn't drain that well and there was some road noise from traffic on the street, but it was clean, super cute and walkable to everything in the downtown area. There was no hotel parking, but they give you a pass for street parking and we never had an issue finding parking close by. Would definitely stay there again if we were in the Arcata area.

Lovely historic Hotel right on the square in the heart of downtown! Cute, cozy room with every kind of romantic detail. Tomo (restaurant) convienently located next to lobby with an amazing bar. Would definitely stay here again!

Older/historic hotel in the middle of town, right on main square. Room was on small size, but as expected for a historic property. Shower and water pressure in our room was awesome. Nothing better than robust hot shower after day of travel or outdoor. Breakfast was spartan, but enough. Not much more than bagel and waffle, but we’ve had worst. Location was nice, downtown Arcata is nice with nice boutique shops and nice town square. Finally the onsite Japenese restaurant, Tomo, I think separate from hotel, was very very good and super easy. Enjoy

This is a beautiful, old hotel, right in downtown Arcata. Location is super convenient and the vibe is cool. The room we stayed in was tiny, with only a double bed, but we knew that going in. The biggest downside was the noise at night. Being in the heart of downtown means you are very close to the bars and noises of a college town. We stayed on a Saturday night and the next morning we asked at the front desk if it was always that noisy. The desk clerk was very polite and helpful and said it is hit or miss, but advised that next time we could ask for an interior room, which would be less noisy. Parking is tough as most of the spots nearby are 2 hours only during the day.

For the historical value, it was cool, but the bathroom reflected the age of the place. I was a little concerned about leaving our van just on the street, but the bed was comfortable and the place was quiet and no one broke into the van!
