Dark Musty Basement Apartment

The host is generous with extra food, but the place is not what we expected and did not have the washing machine listed as an amenity with VRBO. The listing now says coin operated laundry, but it's not on the property. Inside it's dark and smells musty. The floor is old and patched in the back hall and bathroom. It is clean, but it's so worn it doesn't feel clean. The kitchen has an arch about 5'7 inches high just in front of the stove and the only counter space. I'm 5'5 and it worked for me. But my husband could not stand in front of the stove without stopping. I've never seen anything like it. The living area is dark. The front door opens into a long narrow dining room. The sidelight by the door provides the only natural light. Further in there is a small living space. Glass doors lead into the bedroom behind the living room. Light from small casement windows in that bedroom provide some light to the living room. There are no drapes to separate the living room from the bedroom. So if the the lights are on in the living room that bedroom is lit too. The bathroom is small and the bathtub uncomfortable. The hot water heater is insufficient for two baths or showers in a row. Standing while showering is not possible.

Para além da limpeza, o espaço e a piscina com jardim só para nós (o que só por si tornariam o espaço convidativo a voltar), fomos muito bem recebidos e mimados, não só com o petisco de boas vindas como com tudo para os pequenos almoços enquanto ali estivemos.
