“To begin, we booked a stay at the Comfort Inn and the hotel changed to Spark by Hilton and we were never informed. Room did not have glasses, coffee maker, ice bucket. Literally a bed and towels. Luckily we didn't plan on doing laundry as laundry was out of order. In general, the hotel is subpar and that was not the review the Comfort Inn had received when we booked it.”

“We stayed for a week in the regular rooms and tbh they weren’t so bad, they were at least clean. Then we moved into the “suites” extended stay rooms. They were terrible. Stains all over the walls, ceiling, lamps, etc. there was two car air fresheners tied to the AC unit, which was CAKED in mold, I’m talking caked. I bought bleach spray and sprayed it inside and out for a couple of days. The first day there about 5K flies in the rooms, and as I started to see, when the cleaners “cleaned” they……

“This hotel is a 5 star all around. Special kudos to Kelsey at check-in. She has an authentic welcoming spirit. Our room was perfect in every way. The breakfast was nice, but could be improved by adding gravy for us Southern folks. Check out was quick. I highly recommend this location. ”

“This hotel was massively over rated .To start the landscaping has not seen care in months , next almost every painted surface inside the hotel is soiled , the carpets were filthy and covered with litter . Upon arrival I mention this to the desk clerk he said he would have the carpets in the hallway vacuumed ( it never happened during my 4 day stay . The lobby furnishing were worn and out dated and the breakfast was very low quality . The hotel was operated by a certain ethnic group that seems to……

“Good breakfast, very clean room and public areas”

“Furniture had been updated recently as well as the flooring, however the walls had missing drywall and the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were falling in. A dessicated Wendy’s French fry fell out of the “clean” towels hanging in the bathroom. The bed seemed clean and was comfortable. Most likely will try to stay at different hotel in the future. 4/10 experience ”

“This hotel is fantastic! Gorgeous design, super friendly staff, perfect location, and great connection to the uva community. The rooms were well appointed with super soft robes and towels. The staff went above and beyond to greet us. We also ate at the main restaurant Poplar and the food, decor and service was perfect! I’m excited to continue to visit this fantastic addition to the uva community!”
