Located on the hillside of Kamilari just 3 minutes walking from the centre of the village, Open sky villa Kamilari is conveniently situated to offer you the privacy, superb view and a variety of points of interest such as the beaches in Kalamaki, Komos , Matala, Red Beach, Agiofaraggo, archaeological site of Faistos minoan palace. The area offers many hiking routes ranging from easy 1 hour walks to climbing to Psiloritis mountain (2.456 m) and a lot of gorges to explore. Other activities in the area include horse riding, cooking classes, yoga and meditation.
In Kamliari you can find super market, pharmacy, tavernas, coffee shops and gift shops and the best pizzaria in the area!! The closest ATM is 2 km in Kalamaki, bank, post office, Health center in Mires or Timbaki (aprox. 10 km)

Hi- wir hatten eine unglaublich schöne und erholsame Zeit in dem wunderschönen Haus. Stavros ist wirklich ein wahnsinnig freundlicher aufmerksamer Gastgeber. Er versorgt einen schon im Vorfeld mit Informationen über die Insel und gibt Tips für Ausflüge. Bei der Ankunft und zwischendurch bringt er kleine Köstlichkeiten mit- wirklich ganz großartig! Das Haus ist mit ganz viel Liebe und toller Ausstattung, wie zum Beispiel Fliegengitter an jedem Fenster, geplant. Es bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Der Platz unter dem Olivenbaum zum Frühstücken ist einfach traumhaft. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!! Vielen Dank !!

Fabulous villa and a wonderful host

Quite simply this was the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in.. by a long way. Stavros, the owner, was incredibly helpful. He met us on arrival and was available throughout our stay to offer advice and provide some generous and unexpected gifts! The 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were immaculate and the kitchen had everything you could wish for. Great TV and WiFi. The highlight - for us - was the stunning infinity pool with views down the valley to the sea. Kamilari had a number of nice tavernas, a small supermarket and bakery all a short walk away. We also enjoyed sunset meals on the sea front at Kalamaki, a 3km drive. The beach at Agia Gallini was our favourite and we had a memorable cold-water swimming experience in Kourtaliotiko Gorge. A fabulous villa that we were sad to leave.

Perfect place!

What a great place to stay on the best, quietest, most unspoilt side of the island! The property is exactly as described and with a few arrival gifts, a mid-week spruce up and bedding change plus a pool clean by the ‘pool-guy’ we couldn’t have asked for more. Huge thanks has to go out to our host Manolis who provided that all important ‘light touch’ from meeting us on arrival, keeping in touch every couple of days via WhatsApp along with providing some excellent local knowledge and insights. Can’t fault these guys or the property 10/10.

Fantastisches Ferienhaus und toller Gastgeber

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in vollen Zügen genossen. Das Ferienhaus ist sehr modern und sieht wirklich aus wie auf den Bildern. Tolle Aussicht, erstklassiger Pool. Alles sehr sauber und modern ausgestattet und durchdacht. Starvos ist toller Gastgeber, sehr freundlich und fürsorglich und jederzeit erreichbar. Kalimari ist ein toller Ausgangspunkt um wundervolle Strände wie Komos Beach oder Matala zu erreichen. Das Ferienhaus liegt nah an Supermärkten und Tavernen aber dennoch sehr ruhig und mit viel Privatssphäre. Vielen Dank für den erstklassigen Urlaub!

Ideal Location

We were met by Starvros who designed and built this lovely home, along with a bottle of wine and some Greek treats. Everything you need is here. The open concept kitchen and living room design with views to the sea is beautiful. The Master Bedroom with a large deck is a great place to watch the sunset. The village of Kamilari is charming and offers many choices when it comes to dining out. This is the perfect location to reach many places of interest. Starvros is an amazing host. He surprised us several times with tasty delights from local bakeries. He really goes out if his way to make sure you are enjoying your time as this special home. Don’t miss dinner at Taverna Kalari, you can walk there from the house. The best food on Crete.

What a wonderful place to stay!

Open Sky Villa is an absolutely outstanding property in a fantastic location. The property itself is a very modern contemporary design and is located a few minutes walk from the centre of Kamilari with all the wonderful Tavernas and restaurants. Kamilari is about 1 hour from Heraklion and a few minutes more to Water City water park. The beaches of Southern Crete are less busy and the whole area (in my opinion) is nicer than the north. But northern Crete is easily accessible with a car and we headed up that way a few times during our stay. We were there for 10 days during the heatwave of July 23 and despite the heat (>40C) we were very comfortable thanks to the modern and efficient AC and the amazing infinity pool. The pool is a salt water pool and the cleanest and nicest pool I've ever seen at a rental property. We spent hours relaxing in the pool and gazing out at the amazing views. Being salt water there are no chemicals or odour which was very refreshing. We were very well looked after with some great greek goodies on our arrival. We had fresh water melon and some traditional greek cakes delivered during our stay and the cleaner came in during our stay which was a pleasant surprise. They were fantastic hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable. So thank you for the amazing memories of Crete and we will definitely stay again if you will have us!

Traumhaftes Haus mit allem, was da Herz begehrt!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in der Open Sky Villa in Kamilari sehr genossen. Das Haus liegt perfekt, man hat einen grandiosen Ausblick auf das Meer. Alle Schlafzimmer sind geräumig und bieten Ausblick bzw. Zugang zum Garten. Im Infinity-Pool den Sonnenuntergang zu beobachten, ist ein großartiges Erlebnis. Stavros ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber, der sich außergewöhnlich gut um seine Gäste kümmert. Wir haben uns von Anfang an wie zu Hause gefühlt. Stavros gab uns hilfreiche Tipps und Anregungen für unseren Aufenthalt und war stets schnell und unkompliziert erreichbar. Die Ausstattung des Ferienhauses ist perfekt geeignet, um einen unbeschwerten Urlaub zu genießen. Wenn wir wieder nach Kreta reisen, werden wir dieses perfekte Urlaubsdomizil sicher wieder buchen.

Super location - super holidays

We spend three weeks in Kamilari. The house is wonderful. Modern architecture, clean with an amazing view over the bay. The infinity pool is large and deep enough for good swimming; cleaning of the pool was every three days without chemical stuff! Best water quality. The location of the house was perfect to explore the area. Stavros is a wonderful attentive host! Whenever we needed something he was there. Also he gave us good information about places to visit, also where to go to good beaches. We can highly recommend this place! Thanks to Stavros - one of the best hosts we ever met.
