The Portal at Splitrock Farm & Retreat
Tucked beside the iconic Split Rock and a seasonal creek, The Portal offers a peaceful, off-grid glamping escape in a spacious canvas wall tent with a cozy queen bed. Surrounded by the natural beauty of 101 scenic acres, guests enjoy sweeping views of the Pacific horizon, Big Bear, and access to miles of walking and biking trails - including the site’s own Splitrock 5K loop.
Just 3 miles away, the Santa Margarita River Trail Preserve offers even more outdoor adventure. As one of the last free-flowing wild rivers in Southern California, this state-managed trail system — voted the #1 trail in San Diego County — is home to golden beavers, native wildlife, and the southernmost population of steelhead trout.
Inside The Portal, you’ll find:
Queen-Sized Bed – Complete with soft linens and plush pillows for a restful night’s sleep
Loveseat & Blanket – A cozy place to relax, read, or take in the views
Full-Length Mirror – A thoughtful touch for getting ready
Rustic Wooden Coffee Station – Includes storage space and a French press for your morning ritual—just bring your own coffee and grounds
Solar Powered Lighting – Offers ambient lighting for evenings
Clothes Rack with Hangers – Keeps your things tidy
Shelf with Towels – Fresh towels provided for your stay
Please note: The Portal is an off-grid, unpowered tent - designed for guests seeking a nature-forward, unplugged experience. Each of our glamping units have their own private firepits.
Step outside onto your private deck with a bistro table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a quiet sunrise or an evening under the stars.
At the Oak Grove Communal Area, guests have access to games, fire pits, and an outdoor kitchen space. The Camp Shop, located in the Oak Grove shipping container, is open on weekends and stocked with basics like firewood, snacks, and bug spray.
Whether you're hiking nearby trails, relaxing under the oaks, or exploring local gems like the Santa Rosa Plateau or Temecula’s wine country, Splitrock Farm & Retreat is a place to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with nature.
