Great stay

Great quiet location. House was super clean. Well stocked and plenty of games. Fireplace was super warm once we got it going. Hot tub under the stars was perfect.

Incredible & spacious mountain cabin + hot tub with a view!

Fantastic property and resort. Very friendly staff, clean cabin with lots of space for 10+ people. Incredible views, lots of walking and horse riding trails. Very memorable trip for my family. First family ski trip (1.5 hr from slopes) and horse back riding as well. Several college kids said they were having the time of their lives. Oh, and the basement is also an entertainment room with foosball and air hockey tables. And if you like The Lord of The Rings, you'll be in heaven here!

Family winter getaway

Our stay at Second Breakfast was wonderful. Our children and grandchildren enjoyed the hot tub and we made good use of the fireplace. Certain areas of the cabin had not been cleaned and the dryer was not working properly but when we contacted property management, Carolyn and Sue worked hard to resolve our issues.to make sure we were satisfied. We would definitely stay at this property again because it was very spacious with lots of little extras. The other reason is because Property Management worked hard to make sure our stay was enjoyable. D. Casey

Absolutely Perfect

My teens enjoyed all the games in the basement, my youngest 2 enjoyed exploring the fenced in backyard and my husband and I were in absolute awe of the breathtaking views. Our whole family can't wait to return next year. The cabin was easily accessible in our minivan.

Mountain Cabin Family Christmas

We made it happen this year. 8 of us ages almost 89-13 enjoyed being together from Christmas movies, Carols, crafts, games, game room, fire place, hot tub, hiking, relaxing, sunsets and more. The home has everything you would ever need to make the best family forever memories amazing! Forever grateful for 4 days at Second Breakfast.

Wonderful retreat in the mountains

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What a wonderful time we had at this cabin a top of a mountain. We were unexpectedly surprised by all the little extras. Those extra touches made this one of the best rentals we have ever booked.We found the putting set and had several tournaments. I sent a few postcards of the view - nice touch. And the dryer balls were a luxury that I brought back to my house.If you are going to be in this area of NC, I would stay here.

Great get away in Leatherwood.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at the Second breakfast was big, spacious , clean and very lovely house. We had 4 teenagers with us and they enjoyed having their own space in the basement . 2 bedrooms, bathroom and game room with TV. Their own entrance / exit . Loved the swinging chairs . Also loved the Hot Tub on the upper deck. We went horseback riding on guided tour. Also went tubing in a near by creek. Everyone’s favorite Adventure was to go zip lining near Boone and blowing rock. We would definitely recommend it and we’ll go again. We would give it all 5’s. Couldn’t fill out the 5 stars below..., but Definitely all 5’s !!!!

"Look! The mountains are waking up!" - Our 3-year-old

This was an absolute joy of a place. We had 4 adults and 6 kids under the age of 8 together for a family weekend. The kitchen had more supplies than expected (even coffee, which saved us when we forgot!) The rooms were quite comfortable, the views were incredible of the side of the mountain reflecting the sunrise, the drive up the steep paved road was fine in the day—may have been a little dicey at night or in inclement weather. The basement was stocked with games and activities that were PERFECT for kiddos of all ages. Air hockey was a favorite: there were even little stools available for the toddlers to stand on and play, just another amazing example of the attention to detail. There were a few friendly ladybugs and stinkbugs that joined the party, but they were harmless. Overall just a lovely refreshing weekend in the mountains. We hope to return soon! Tip: Bring a couple humidifiers if you're there in the winter. Like most places, the air gets dry from the heat/fireplace.

And the kitchen is thoroughly stocked for easy in home cooking. The playroom is full of well-organized games like darts, Jenna, bocce ball plus air hockey and Foosball. Cannot wait to return!

Best family cabin

This cabin has everything you could ever need with big and little kids! Endless games and space to play outside and inside. Our kids were too young to hike but the views from the cabin were incredible. Will definitely be staying here again soon!

A very nice time!

The house was really neat with many Lord of the Rings details and artifacts. We enjoyed the hot tub and many games in the downstairs area. We did not realize how remote the area was, but once we were at the house, it really did not matter. Approximately 45 minutes to Blowing rock on very winding roads. The house was well stocked-lots of kitchen tools/gadgets!

Great weekend getaway at Leatherwood

Great family trip to Leatherwood. The Second Breakfast cabin was absolutely wonderful. It was well equipped and extremely clean. The owners have thought of every detail. Would highly recommend this cabin. Spent a great weekend here with family Thanks for a wonderful stay

Perfection!

We needed a place to stay for a wedding weekend and this place was perfect! The basement area was perfect for our high school and college aged kids. The main level was perfect for my elderly grandmother and my mom. The upstairs was great for the rest of us. Everything we needed was there. The place was clean and very well maintained. Beautiful inside and out. The views were breathtaking. Anything we needed and forgot at home or needed to go shop for was already there. Thank you for opening your home to us. We will definitely return for a longer stay.
