I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating one-night stay at I bis Fes, and I would strongly advise against booking this hotel.
Despite having a prepaid reservation online, the hotel reception insisted that no payment had been made and demanded full payment again at check-in. I showed them my payment confirmation along with the deducted amount from my bank, yet they continued to treat me like I was trying to cheat them — making me feel like a low-level tourist who couldn’t afford to pay. Completely unprofessional behavior.
Unfortunately, the nightmare didn’t stop there. The air conditioner didn’t cool at all — it just blew warm air, and with Morocco’s heat at this time of year, the room was unbearable. I complained three times, went back and forth with the reception, and after over an hour, they finally sent a maintenance person who didn’t speak English. He simply checked the unit and said, “It’s working” — apparently, blowing air equals working AC in their standards. No attempt was made to fix the issue or offer a different room.
To top it off, the room itself was a disaster — no towels, no tissue box, no water bottles provided. The room was so small I could barely move around.
This was a pathetic and frustrating experience from start to finish. I will never book an I bis hotel again and urge others to avoid this location entirely.
