They advertised having soundproofed rooms with blackout curtains. A glaring, blatant lie. It was by far the noisiest hotel room I’ve been in. One set of windows that looked onto an atrium was full of artificial light day and night, EVEN with the curtains drawn. I got no sleep the first night.
They moved me to another room after my first night. It was on the top floor. It was quieter but it is definitely not soundproof. I could easily hear my neighbors as well as the housekeeper wringing out the mop.
I stayed another few nights in the new room for I didn’t feel like moving to another hotel in the middle of my stay in Fethiye.
Disappointment, though, continued to unfold. Every single shower I took, the hot water didn’t last five minutes. Perhaps because it is the off season they are cutting corners with the hot water heaters, or, they could just be cheap with the water all year round. I mentioned it to the man who worked reception but he never followed up on it.
In reply to my complaints the first night, I was told “we don’t get many complaints with your room to be honest.” So I gathered they were telling me I was making a big deal over nothing. Funny enough, though, before my stay at the property even ended, they boarded up the windows of my old room and plastered over it. So I was left confused: did I have a point or was I making a big deal over nothing?
After my initial review the owner showed up, offered a glass of wine and asked me to rethink my review—so so tacky.
