“If you are visiting Istanbul, your travels should take you to Taksim. If so a great stay for the money at Taksim Çetinkaya Suite Hotel. A bit off thhe beaten path but a real taste of the city and easy access to all their is around. Emi (owner) was excellent, provided tea, advice in my travels in the city, and helped me get a taxi set for the airport departure. “The location is good for the ferry and the bus but not for subway travel. If you want to stay in Istanbul, being close to subway is really important because we kept getting stuck in traffic. The place could be much cleaner, sinks and the shower wasn’t cleaned properly. They advertise that it has a kitchen but we didn’t use the rusty&broken stove top because it looked like a fire hazard. They only had one scratched teflon pot anyway that we again didn’t feel comfortable using. We didn’t have……
