No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Cuxhaven escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and choose shoes that are flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
