Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Quillan holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and choose shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
