Welcome to Villa Dante, an enchanting residence located just a few minutes' drive from the heart of Florence, along a secondary road connecting the city to Fiesole.
This place was an inspiration to none other than Dante Alighieri, and was also the home of the family of Beatrice Portinari, the eternal love of the supreme poet. Today, Villa Dante is a testament to the past, recovered and carefully restored by Count Pier Francesco Rimbotti after World War II, remaining proudly in the hands of his family. The villa is a haven of privacy and tranquillity, surrounded by high stone walls with a remote-controlled gate, and offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The garden (5,000 square metres) is a true Italian-style masterpiece, adorned with majestic maritime pines, proudly standing cypresses, delicate hydrangeas and paths framed by lovingly tended hedges. Within this dreamlike garden, you will find a covered gazebo furnished with cosy sofas and a whirlpool bath for six, an oasis of pure relaxation surrounded by nature. And again, guests can enjoy a spacious terrace overlooking the garden, complete with a lounge area and sun loungers. Villa Dante is strategically located, just a few minutes' drive from both the centre of Florence and Fiesole, along a narrow road with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
Fiesole is a small town of Etruscan foundation, set on the hill overlooking Florence, in a splendid panoramic position. Here you can admire the important Etruscan and Roman remains preserved in the vast Archaeological Area or take a walk uphill to the Convent of San Francesco, where you can admire perhaps the most beautiful view of Florence.
We also suggest a visit to the small medieval village of Maiano, famous for centuries for the presence of the renowned quarries from which the prized varieties of 'pietra forte' and 'pietra serena' are obtained, used as building material for the construction of villas and palaces in Fiesole and Florence.
In addition, within an hour's drive you can reach the marvellous Chianti Classico region, famous throughout the world for the prestigious wine to which it gives birth, and for its evocative landscapes and enchanting villages, from nearby Greve to Panzano, from Castellina to Radda.
For sports lovers, several options are available: trekking and biking trails; tennis courts and five-a-side football fields 17 km away (at the Chianti Country Club); golf courses 17 km away (at the Circolo Golf Ugolino); riding stables and trails 13 km away (at the L'Antellino Equestrian Centre).

The property (632 square metres), on 3 floors and elegantly furnished with high quality period furniture, can accommodate up to 10 people for a total of 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms (5 full and 1 service bathroom).
Ground floor: Upon entering, we find two elegant living rooms, furnished with antiques, period sofas and hand-painted wall decorations. This is followed by a breakfast room (seating 6) and a dining room with a precious wooden table seating up to 14 people.
The lovely covered veranda is ideal for al fresco dining, while the kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with oven, refrigerator, coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher.
A laundry room (with washing machine) and staff rooms with separate entrances complete the floor.
First floor: The upper floor - accessed via a beautiful stone staircase - is dedicated to the sleeping area, consisting of 4 spacious double bedrooms, all with ensuite bathroom (recently renovated, with shower) and self-regulating air conditioning.
Also on this level is a small but bright office with direct access to the outdoor terrace, equipped with sun loungers.
Second floor: The top floor - also accessible via the stone staircase - hosts a small living room and the 5th double bedroom (convertible into a twin) with ensuite bathroom (with shower) and self-regulating air conditioning.
There is a fibre optic Internet connection. All bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom and self-regulating air conditioning.
