Set in the heart of Fort Augustus and looking out over the locks of the Caledonian Canal, these beautifully presented holiday apartments make the perfect base for enjoying the village amenities and also for exploring this lovely part of the Highlands. You can sit in the comfort of your living room and watch boats travel through the canal. This pretty village is situated at the southern end of Loch Ness and is close to the Great Glen Way. Lots to see and do for all ages – monster spotting on Loch Ness, boat trips, mountain biking, canoeing, hill walking to name but a few. Take a trip to Fort William, the ’Outdoor Capital of the UK’, or Inverness, the vibrant Highland Capital. A trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye with the dramatic scenery of the west coast should not be missed. Or just relax and watch the ever changing views over the village. Restaurant 40 yards, shop and pub 20 yards.

Really enjoyed this place, v v close to 5 stars, you can hear the people below sometimes at night snoring, there's creaking through-out the night, footstep sounding noises which was abit weird but overall would recommend, v happy, they also provide a decent 1-2 nights wood for the fire which was nice, lighter and fire starters provided, v v nice yes yes

Great value for money.

Great value for money. £400 for the week is great value. Cleanliness a bit hit and miss. Towels and bedding nice and clean but kitchen and bathrooms could use a deep clean. Fort Augustus is a great location for exploring the area.

Excellent location with great views of the canal locks. Fort Augustus is a great base to explore the West Highlands. Clean property. Only black mark was the hot water boiler failed every day of our visit. It became apparent that this was a long term issue which had not been addressed by the owner. Running hot water is a key essential for any property.

This was our third time at Lock View so I guess we like it! In truth it's the location and proximity

This was our third time at Lock View so I guess we like it! In truth it's the location and proximity to the canal that is most appealing, sitting in the lounge or in bed and watching the boats go by! The flat itself, in truth is rather jaded and in need of some tlc and is only superficially clean. Its ok but no cigar...if you're looking for state of the art luxury this place isn't for you!

Flat is in a fantastic location facing locks on the Caledonian Canal. Every morning we watched an amazing variety of boats travel through the locks from the window of the flat. The flat is well proportioned; sitting room furniture could be better (slippery couch and chairs were uncomfortable though I appreciate their ease of cleaning.). A lock on the bathroom door? Fort Augustus has great facilities (Lock Inn, Botha, Richmond House, Cobbs bakery. Excellent base for touring Highlands (Skye, Inverness, Beauly, Glen Africa’s, Aviemore, Nairn)
