Wonderful home and experpience

We loved our stay. The owner was super helpful and communicative, the kids loved the home (our son even commented that he's never slept better), and our pup loved getting to go exploring with us outside. It was really nice being so close to downtown and family, while feeling nestled in the woods - private, yet super convenient, and hearing the waves was lovely.

Great location, cozy stay

Cozy home, centrally located, good accomodations, with at home feel. Quite with views and close to center of town. Great kitchen and living area, nicely stocked for home cooking. A very nice stay, will book again.

Great, quiet space!

This house was prefect for our needs. It was big enough for our family and located in a quiet neighborhood with a big yard. It was also nice that our dog was able to stay. We enjoyed the house. Thank you!

Cute house

Very cozy! Very comfortable. Only hard thing is the electricity and ability to see road from the main road, there is not a good sign. You cannot use certain lights together or it makes electricity go crazy. The house was so comfy and cute. My toddler loved that you could see the ocean from the living room! It was truly comfy. We would absolutely stay there again!

Relaxed and coastal cool

We loved our stay in this adorable house. It was like coming home to grandma‘s place. Soft sheets and towels, privacy with an awesome deck and surrounding mature greenery. We had terrific weather, but with all the windows, this would be a cozy place if it were rainy or overcast. At the south end of Fort Bragg this location afforded us easy access to Mendocino on the south up to MacKerricher State Park on the north. Our two dogs were welcome and a small dog poop container made disposing of their waste so convenient. Sounds laughable, but it’s the small details that made this place great.

Very Comfortable Property

The house was well equipped and spotless. It would have been nice to have had enough wood for the first night's fire, since there was a storm, but once we got it burning properly it warmed the house quite effectively. The heater is very noisy for a light sleeper, so we turned it off and heated the house overnight with a fire. I appreciated that the owners allowed us to bring our small dog and the large yard made it nice for her, too! I would rent this house again.

Sweet Stay

The house was so charming. I loved the mix of updates and original fixtures. The outdoor spaces really made this trip for us. From the patio off of the dining room and the long driveway keeping us off the main road, to the huge grass area surrounding three-quarters of the house and the great firepit. The yard had the perfect combination of privacy and openness. We brought our puppy who thought she was in heaven. The only thing I would suggest to add is a binder with information about how to use things like the indoor fireplace and the downstairs TV. Other than that, It was everything we wanted for a great vacation!

Quiet and comfortable

First, the street is hard to find in the dark! There is no street sign and it's basically a tiny one-lane road. We loved that there was a gate, though, it made us feel safe. The house is well appointed and comfortable, but not fancy. Kinda feels like you're staying at a relatives house. There were some odd things like pictures and rugs stashed under beds and in dresser drawers, but it only took about a day to feel at home. They had pretty much anything you'd need. Lots of extra blankets to get cozy on a rainy day. We cooked almost all our meals there and actually really liked the kitchen. Hot water a plenty and a great gas stove! We even used the bbq to cook up some steaks one night. The crazy best thing was that we always have an Uno tournament on New Years eve, but realized that no one brought the game. Sure enough, they had Uno at the house! I would definitely choose this house to stay at again in the future and our friends asked for the info to possibly book in the future. Highly recommend if you want quiet and comfortable. May not be for you if you are looking for fancy.

Not as expected

The house was not as nice as pictured. The outdoor areas were not clean and the small patio area had no cushions on the chairs or bench and the table was dirty. The kitchen is modern and overall nice. The rug in the kitchen was dirty. The closets in two bedrooms weren’t usable as personal things were stored in them. The house could be cleaner.

Disappointed.Not at all what I was expecting. Terrible customer service.First the positives: The yard and fire pit are very nice and the property is close to everything. . .Now the negative surprises: The photos of this listing make the house look absolutely pristine as well as somewhat modern. It is neither. It is extremely rustic. It smelled of mildew when we first entered. Seemed clean but furniture and carpeting showed much wear. There were stains on the living room carpet. The sofa had been covered to hide stains but the cover was also stained in some areas. Mouse droppings in upstairs closet. The bathrooms are very antiquated.Bathmat in the shower was gross. the primary bedroom (the newest and nicest one) is the farthest from either of the two bathrooms. And,unbelievably, there is no hair dryer on the premises. There is ample closet space but very few hangers. Red Awning’s customer service is terrible. They were notified of my dissatisfaction soon after checking in and still took more than 24 hours to communicate their refusal of my request for an early checkout and refund of third night. And they then added insult to injury by slapping an additional charge on me.I have never written a negative review of any VRBO property that I have stayed in. I’m truly surprised that VRBO does business with them.
