Strong dog smell.
We reserved the house for 4 days but were only able to stay 1 night. Check in is at 3:30 and we arrived at 4:30 and the cleaning lady was still there. Once we were able to get access to the house we were greeted with an overwhelming smell of wet dog. We opened all the windows and doors to try and air out the house to no avail. We placed dryer lint sheets on the returns to help with the odor but it didn’t work. The carpet was stained with what I would assume pet urine. I had to sleep with a scented tissue on my nose. We didn’t even want to open our suitcases because we were afraid the odor would permeate our clothes. I told the owner that we would not be able to stay another night and he did offer me a refund but still charged me a hefty fee for cleaning and admin fees along with the nights stay. We could have stayed at a very nice place for the amount they want to charge. The carpet has to be changed because no matter how much flower smelling powder you put on it you will only end up with even more of a nauseating odor.
