Aime-la-Plagne Fortification Saint Sigismond Hotels

"Just returned from a 4 night break at the PopAlp. We had an amazing stay at this hotel, we were greeted by Nicolas on reception who was warm and welcoming, he was so helpful and could not do enough for us, he is a credit to the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean, well appointed, the beds were very comfortable and plenty of storage. Breakfast was lovely everything you need from fruit, breads, pastries etc.The hot breakfast items like back & eggs could have been kept hotter but apart from this everything was "

"AVOID!!! From the start it was very dirty, i noticed how muddy the floor was, my girlfriend noticed how dirty the bathroom and oven was. Also the bedsheet was stained. Halfway through the stay the bathroom sink broke, meaning the plug was stuck in and they wouldn't come to repair it. To add insult to injury, despite me informing the owner of the broken sink and that the apartment was dirty, they are trying to blame us for the sink and leaving the apartment dirty - very disappointing considering we left it cleaner than we found it. nice apartment but 0/10 for cleanliness and very poor owner. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere "

"We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this chalet over Christmas and New Year! The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, and the chalet itself exceeded all expectations—spotlessly clean, warm, and wonderfully comfortable. Perfect for six adults, it was fully equipped for cozy dinners in after long ski days. Despite having just one toilet, it never caused any issues, and we always had plenty of hot water for showers.The little extras made it even better: a warm, easily accessible boot room and a great selection of DVDs and games (not even mentioned in the listing!). The host’s local agent checked in on Christmas Eve, which was such a thoughtful touch.The only minor downside was the lack of parking and the icy walk from the bus stop, which might be tricky for beginners or families with young kids. For us, it was no problem—the bus stop at the bottom of Crete Cote was super convenient. Our older kids hired skis at Sport 2000 Plagne 1800 and rented a locker near the lift, making mornings and evenings stress-free. They even made a ritual of warming up by the fire at La Mine Bar for a quick drink before heading back for a cozy night in!With buses running so frequently, we won’t bother hiring a car next time. "The property is fantastic, HOWEVER:1) It isn’t ski in/out (at least a 300m walk before you ski through trees to the slopes to get to a red run. We had to drive every day and we’re experienced skiers!2) The room configuration is NOT what is on the website (actual configuration is three doubles, one single, one room with two bunk beds). This made our lives hard as we had told children which rooms they would be in, based on description. We did have a couple of issues while staying, but they were fixed VERY QUICKLY. The owner (local contact) were excellent. "

"Stayed here for a week's skiing. Ski in/out for blue run skiers. Ski/Boot room requires some work but perfectly safe for equipment. Apartments are great with good bread/pastry service in the morning. Pool and spa is a good facility, particularly for the kids"

"The hotel itself is fine and the staff are excellent. But to describe the hotel as "ski-in/ski-out" is wholly misleading. The exit/entrance involved a dangerous traverse across about 100m of sheet ice. The hotel itself recommended against using the route, instead suggesting using the free shuttle. That runs about every 90 minutes, so is basically useless. So don't stay here if you don't want to have to drive to the resort each day. Also, don't make the mistake of buying the full Paradiski area pass - this hotel is so far at one end of the area you'll never make it over to Les Arcs and there is loads of skiing in La Plagne "
