Nice boutique hotel right in the downtown area. Many eateries a very short walk away. We appreciated the little touches, like the welcome chocolate bites and the two water bottles. There is convenient parking behind the hotel.

Staff and amenities wonderful. Have stayed here many times before. I was not sure what was causing the musty smell during this trip and was certain the hotel was working on it so didn’t complain. The staff and hotel are top notch best of luck with it and hope it is resolved soon.

The American Hotel is a very old property, (Abraham Lincoln stayed there) but well maintained. Everything is clean. Our room was quite small, containing a king sized bed and only a desk chair so there wasn’t seating for both of us. My husband went down to the area they call the living room to read. The restaurant is fantastic. We have dined there many times would again. The location is perfect for our needs so we will no doubt return.

Honestly the hotel was fine no issues except that we asked for a late check out for a medical reason and they declined. We just need it few hours and were willing to pay for it.
