Totally Paradise!

Reviewer Comments: This was our second time my friends and I have stayed in this beautiful, awesome, incredible house and we love it even more than last year. This house is perfect for us--6 older women who are looking for a peaceful, quiet place to stay. The beach, the view, the neighbors, and the seasonal Elephant seal, Ellie, make this vacation feel like we are coming home when we are here. The house is perfect in every way and is the best vacation home we have ever rented.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My friends and I have stayed in a vacation rental every summer for 26 years, and this is the best house ever! It had everything we needed--an island, beach front, beautiful house, really nice neighbors, and even a local Elephant seal named Ellie that hangs out on the beach. We saw eagles, porpoise, cruise ships, Navy ships, all kinds of other boats, beautiful sunsets every night, and peace and quiet. The house was perfect for six older women and we enjoyed every single minute we were there. Jerry, the maintenance man, was quick to respond when one of the toilets wouldn't shut off. The only thing we would recommend is to replace the mattress in the Master bedroom. It is very worn and sinks in the middle--it makes it difficult for two people to share that bed. Everything else was perfect and we are really hoping we get to go back next summer.

I think it is better suited to a family with younger children than our use of the property, which was three adult siblings. The reason I say that is the two bedrooms in the back of the home share a bathroom with entry doors from both bedrooms, which was logistically a little challenging. It looked it had a wonderful set up for two families and young children, especially with the loft, etc. The only other issue was a nonworking fireplace inside, which was disappointing. That said, the rest of the place and location were outstanding, and I don't know of a better waterfront access and view on Whidbey Island.

Nice location but lacking some details

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is in a perfect location with a sweeping view of Puget Sound so, even if the weather's bad, you can look at birds and such from the front windows. It was unfortunate that the power went out for one night of our stay and we made do, finding candles and firewood for the fireplace, no courtesy of Tara Management though, who told us to go buy firewood. They don't seem to know their properties well and were not aware of the bacon fat on the dishes in the cupboard, the lack of hair dryers or any bath products other than soap. Overall, the house was clearly used by the owners with love but it's been a long time since it was updated. For the price it could have been better.

Birthday Retreat

Spent a great mid-week get away at this great water front cabin. Great morning coffee on the deck. Viewed Orca whales right off shore, without have to get on a boat. Very quiet and peaceful Cabin very well appointed. Enjoyed evening cocktails and sunsets, on the expansive deck. Can’t wait for an opportunity to return.

Lovely Time

We had a wonderful time with our kids and grandkids! The place was right on the beach and the grandkids loved watching the deer, bunnies, and birds that visisted. We also found a harbor seal on the beach that we named Petunia but later found out from the Whale Center she was named Ellie and picked that part of the beach to do her molting! As for the house, it was a delightful accommodation and had everything we needed for our stay. The lay out was interesting, but that didn't seem to bother any of us! The view was spectacular and all in all we had a great time in this lovely little beach house!

A dog lives at this property and you can smell and see the hair.

I booked this property specifically as it was listed as not allowing pets. I did that as my wife and son have severe pet allergies. It has always been a safe assumption that if a property does not allow pets that a dog does not regularly live there. That was not the case. Upon entering the property you could clearly and strongly smell dog as well as see the spray bottle of Fabreeze on the counter they drained trying to cover up the smell. For someone with severe allergies Fabreeze does nothing. The couch was covered in dog hair and we later stumbled upon a dog bowl and bag of dog food in the closet while looking for garbage bags. It was very clear the owner stayed there frequently with their dog. A potentially great weekend was ruined by dog allergies in a house where pets are not allowed. I contacted the rental manager about it before posting this review, and was only told that it was my fault for not specifically asking if a house not allowing pets had one living there regularly with the owner. I am aware that misunderstandings happen. It is how someone handles this issue that matters. TARA vacation rentals only told me this was completely my fault. I would not book this or any other property managed by TARA vacation rentals.

Cozy beachfront house with the perfect sunset

We booked this property a day before we arrive, and the booking process and communication with the admins are smooth and fast, we appreciated the early check-in! The house is as described, and despite the smoke moving in because of the forest fire, we had a great stay with the perfect sunset. Very quiet and peaceful. Would definitely come back again!

Great Location

Overall, we had a great time staying at this property . It worked well for our 2 families . The house could have been cleaner . There was a lot of visible dust and an odd moldy smell that could be taken care of with a really thorough deep cleaning. Location was excellent. We spent the majority of our time outdoors enjoying the view

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our view, but the house was filled with the stench of wet dog and a strong floral spray to cover that smell. Fortunately, we could open all the doors and windows and eat and spend most of our time outside. We left early because the smell was too much when we had to close the doors and windows.

It was really beautiful property

I think it would be helpful for people to know what the lay out of the bedrooms are. You have to walk through bedrooms to get to bedrooms so it did not really meet our sleeping needs. But I can't complain because we spent most of our time outside and could not ask for a more beautiful beachfront and outdoor space.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although we were wowed by the view, we were pretty disappointed in this place. I don't understand why people gave it good reviews. We found dirty, wet towels piled next to washer, filthy mats, dirty windows, and a number of things that didn't work. DVD player wasn't working. Three lamps weren't working, replaced bulbs, but bulbs didn't work either. Tara did come out and bring some new lamps,and fixed wiring to DVD player but it cost us one half of a day to wait for them to show up. They gave us a credit on our cleaning deposit, but I would have preferred to have a clean place. Layout is really weird with one bedroom only accessible by walking thru 2 others and a bathroom to get to. Both showers had problems. One has water saving head that shoots right into your face and can't be adjusted. The other is leaking at the connection to the head (previously mentioned in another review) and sprays water all over the floor, plus the tub hardly drains. My niece had to scrub the moldy bath mat (embarrassing!) Because of septic tank, difficult to take showers, wash clothes and run dishwasher because you have to wait in between. This place needs a really good cleaning, and decluttering. Several reviews have mentioned cleaning out the old food, but that hasn't happened. I also bought some hangers at the thrift store to help out. The deck was nice, and the view is gorgeous.

It does not really sleep ten comfortably unless some are kids or you are close family. It needs some shower head repairs and water use is limited by septic system. Something to be aware of but not a reason not to stay here. Tara was very professional and helpful.

Amazing location, run down house

But you could barely shower- wouldn't drain and half the water left out the hose before it got to the shower head. The other shower was so tiny it was a joke. The pull out sofa sheets were filthy, so bad we wouldn't sleep in it. We wanted to hose off the kids outside to prevent sand from coming inside but it's barley accessible. A few small improvements to this house would make a world of difference.
