Tucked just outside the heart of Freeport, this charming coastal loft suite is the perfect blend of cozy retreat and Maine adventure. Thoughtfully designed with soaring ceilings, a warm gas fireplace, and a unique lofted bedroom accessed by a classic ship ladder, the space feels both inviting and unforgettable. Wake up in the queen loft, sip coffee by the fire, and enjoy a quiet morning in your private suite before heading out to explore everything the Maine coast has to offer.
The suite includes a comfortable living room, a kitchenette with dining for two, and a full bathroom, and a loft bedroom—all exclusively yours. Access is through a shared side entrance, but once inside, you’ll have your own peaceful getaway. Our family does live on the property and is available if you need anything during your stay. Outside, wander through the gardens, relax on the patio, or snack on fresh Maine blueberries right from the bushes lining the walkway in summer.
Location is everything here. You’re about a one-mile pleasant walk to L.L.Bean, local coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping, while still surrounded by nature and the ocean air. Bring your kayaks or paddle boards—the public boat launch is just around the corner—and for the adventurous, the public swim dock is only a block away for a refreshing Maine dip.
In winter, discover a quieter coastal charm with snowshoeing, saunas, cold plunges, and cozy fireside evenings after a day exploring Maine’s snowy landscapes.
Winter in Freeport
Freeport is at its best in winter, when the crowds thin out and the landscape gets quiet and beautiful. Here’s how to spend your days:
Lace up your skates. The town ice skating pond is right across the street, so you can step out the door and onto the ice, ice permitting of course!
Snowshoe the trails at Wolfs Neck State Park, which wind through the woods and along the water’s edge.
Cold plunge, then sauna. For the real Maine experience, cold plunge with the locals at Winslow Park and then warm up at Dryppe Sauna.
Sled at Pineland Farms. Grab a delicious lunch there and make an afternoon of it.
Join the winter festivals. Freeport hosts festivals throughout the season, so check the town calendar for events during your stay.
Shop and refuel at LL Bean, then find a cozy spot for coffee or dinner in town.
End the day by the fire. Come home to the fireplace and the comfortable bed.
Come back in summer, too.
Freeport is just as stunning in the warmer months, and there’s no shortage of things to do:
Pick blueberries. Our Maine blueberry bushes line the walk up to the side entrance, so help yourself.
Paddle. Bring your kayaks or paddle boards, since a public boat launch is just around the corner. You can also rent kayaks from Rings Marina and paddle the Harraseeket.
Hike the trails at Wolfs Neck State Park and explore the water’s edge.
Mountain bike at Bradbury Mountain. Or my personal favorite bike to Crystal Springs farmers market.
Catch free events. LL Bean hosts Summer in the Park, with outdoor movies on Fridays and concerts on Saturdays. Plus a plethora of festivals throughout the summer.
Eat lobster, of course, at Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster.
Indulge in local oysters what’s even better than Maine lobster—Maine oysters. Local favorites are Love Point, Norumbega, and Eros.
Take a dip at the public swim dock, one block away.
Whether you’re here for outdoor adventure, romantic coastal weekends, or simply a peaceful place to unwind, this one-of-a-kind loft suite offers an authentic Maine experience with warmth, character, and easy access to it all.
