“Although the Rita Suite was clean, comfortable and roomy, and it is in a great location, we found it lacked some basic amenities for travelers such as: Salt and Pepper, cooking oil, servettes, extra roll of paper towel, and sufficient amount of coffee pods for the length of our stay. As well, there was no "Welcome Basket" that we are accustom to seeing at other VRBOs that includes such things as preserves, crackers etc. (i.e. small items that are often not brought by travelers). “The location was beautiful and well cared for. It is a true family run business with the feeling of the passion and love of the owners in all aspects. My brother and I enjoyed our stay and met the owners *who gave me a ride back up the hill when I forgot my keys! I would recommend to anyone looking for a Cabot Trail basecamp! ”

“Unique property, staff was friendly and accommodating and there was a nice breakfast provided in the morning. Kids liked staying here, as there were 3 beds in our room so they didn't have to share. Our only complaint would be the bugs and spiders in the room. It is a "cottage style" vibe, so if you are looking for fancy, it might not be your place.”

“This was an amazing property. Well maintained. Clean and great facilities. Lisa was amazing and other staff were very friendly. We did the trail to the brook and it was nicely marked. Getting up the hill was a challenge with heavy bags so consider taking staff up on offered assistance. Will for sure recommend this to others if they are traveling in the area.”

“The woman's touch was evident; we didn't have to ask for anything extra, there were ample towels and everything was thought out in advance. The setting was idyllic, peaceful and serene. We enjoyed the meditation zone; it was magical. One should be aware there are no grocery shops or restaurants nearby. One is advised to arrive with supplies needed for your stay. The location is isolated but a welcome respite after days of travel. The Louisbourg fortress is a 35 minute drive away.”

“The dome itself was lovely and well situated on the water. The bed was uncomfortable, but the linens were clean. I was very disappointed in the facilities. I have no issues with using a pit toilet, however you must provide some running water for guests. The only way I was able to fill up water bottles was to ask the people at the lodge to go into the kitchen to fill my water bottles. I was also incredibly disgusted by the showers at Cabot Shores. “I really enjoyed being right on the lake with access to kayaks. It’s the perfect spot for a good few to spend a quiet getaway. The town over is about 8 minutes away with lots of unique places to visit. Plus the beds are very comfortable. Furhermore, if you are considering a winter getaway I believe it would be a fantastique stay for that as well with the quaint electric fire place.”
