Youghal Front Strand Beach Hotels

"We stayed at the hotel for a family occasion. We tried to check in at 1:30pm, room wasn't ready, reception didn't ask if we wanted to leave luggage. When we got to our room the accommodation was basic and clean. The breakfast was good the next morning, staff could have friendlier and more attentive. We went to the Leisure Centre, the pool area is absolutely filthy, tiles hanging off the walls. The Jacuzzi was dirty and had a really bad smell off the water. The sauna and steam room need a full refurb "

"Loved the hotel and the view. Room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint was that at breakfast we were ignored several times. Brought meal out but no toast as ordered. Had to ask three times for toast and reply was will bring it out. Then we watched other tables receive meals and toast while we waited. Finally manager came by and we asked again. She immediately took care of it. Paid for breakfast with credit card. Then at check out it was on our bill. Manager, front desk, cleaning staff excellent. The young lady server that morning at breakfast ignored requests for toast yet served toast to tables around us. Manager once again was excellent "

"The biggest issue with this hotel is the poor Wi-Fi. Ive stayed twice now in different rooms. If you sit at the desk there is a good chance you will constantly lose connection or fail to connect. On both stays I ended up using roaming. Super annoying. 2 laptops, 1 phone and a tablet same issue. Even when moving around the room connectivity was iffy. For the 2nd room the router was literally outside the room. The complaint made had no effect. It's not good enough for a 1st world country! Not sure the staff used a vacuum cleaner once in the room either. The gym is pretty good and well equipped. One of the male early morning staff is super grumpy and often has towels (happened 4x in 7 gym sessions). Each time he seemed put out he had to go fetch one. Surely thats part of his job! Bed was very comfy. If the rooms had a mini fridge that would make a big difference when staying 1 week or more. Big Tesco round the corner and several good restaurants in the area. I did not see any aircon so I'm not sure what it will be like in summer. Probably hot? The hotel restaurant is very good. Good selection of food and drink and good staff. "

"The front door was broken, the curtains were hanging off in places, the kitchen windows couldn't be opened and the handle broken, the couches were grubby, the outdoor space in the back was unmaintained, grubby covered in weeds, old cigarette butts and had a random door in it, the outdoor front area was grubby and unkempt, long grass not suitable for kids to play. The pool in the hotel is a walkable distance but you have to play to enter €5/child, €12/adult which was not stated when booking. 2 bathrooms both with shelves broken from the mirror, guests nextdoor were shouting and fighting for hours- when I contacted the property at midnight nothing was done and then property manager rang me twice at 4am!! Not worth the money which is a shame as the beach and location is beautiful. Also the welcome booklet with guest information was all torn and shabby. Very disappointing."
