Great place for a special family occasion

Fabulous 3/4 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom villa with extensive superb view towards hillside and local white washed villages. Only a 10 minute cheap uber or bolt ride down into Funchal, although local buses also stop very close by. Outside facilities were brilliant with super modern pool and jacuzzi, both of which were heated, and numerous comfortable seating areas and BBQ area. 5 days over far too quickly due to flight delays, would love to visit again soon. An Island Apartments staff all very helpful.

Room for improvement

Overall, a beautiful villa, but unfortunately the furnishings were rather sparse and the cleanliness was poor. The villa is located on a very busy road, so it is quite noisy. Its location behind a slope means that there is not much sunshine (only in the morning) on the terrace and in the garden. Unfortunately, the check-in coordination was not very good, and later requests were not responded to.
