The Hotel was excellent with an excellent location. I enjoyed the pool. Many good restaurants conveniently located just behind the hotel. The buffet breakfast offered an excellent selection and was so helpful to have especially before touring. I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff was very helpful, especially Rodrigue and Rachel also, the property was well maintained and very clean. I enjoyed the breakfast very much. It had a lot of variety.The only thing I disliked was the pool deck was under construction, and there was a sewer smell on the property other than that I enjoyed my stay.

A lovely friendly hotel with plenty of facilities and helpful and friendly staff. The room was clean and had every thing we needed. We had a couple of meals in the pool bar which were very nice. The hotel is situated very close to Funchal centre and there were plenty of eating and drinking places.

HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this hotel for several reasons. First and foremost, the hotel is extremely clean and modern. I loved everything about the room and hotel amenities. Second, they have the best staff. DIEGO and NANCY were incredibly kind. They were amazing and went out of their way to help me when I lost my US passport. The hotel is in an amazing location and had THE BEST breakfast buffet. Cannot wait to visit again!

Fortunately could afford an upgrade to suite, initial room look small from balcony size. Breakfast buffet a bit same every day. But our room was lovely, nice feel to hotel, interacted with few staff but friendly enough. No hotel airport shuttle, they just call an expensive taxi. Uber cheaper.

Positives - Our room was on the 6th floor which has an amazing view out to the Atlantic! - The bed was comfortable - The air con was good. - Shower was good. - Enjoyed our time at the lower level sea water pool and great to have sea access. - Nice bar staff at the lower level pool. Negatives - Really poor soundproofing in the room, we heard stomping around from upstairs at all different hours of the day, you can hear people using the bathroom taps/showers. You can hear next door TV. This was probably the main bug bear of this stay. - Myself and my wife had spoken to the hotel about it being my birthday and if they could do anything special for us, even if it required as to pay, they said they were going to put a bottle of sparkling in the room but it never happened. This is quite poor customer service to be honest. - We tried calling the reception nearly everyday early in the evening to get an iron and ironing board, no-one ever answered the phone. - Unattentive bar staff at the rooftop bar. - Highly annoying and repetitive promo video/music in the lifts. In summary, we absolutely loved Madeira, but unfortunately when we visit again, it won't be to the NEXT hotel.
