Casa Saverio Holiday House is a dream apartment! The pictures just do not do it justice; it's much prettier than the pictures show! Saverio and family were OH SO HELPFUL...from bringing the luggage up from the parking garage, to making reservations at nearby restaurants, to arranging for a small repair job on our rental vehicle (oops), to providing milk for coffee/tea in the morning (we'd just arrived from the harrowing drive and the thought of having to go out to pick up for the morning was too much). All the little gifts of welcome were so appreciated: a bottle of his Dad's home-made red and white wines (yum), his Mom's apricot pie and jam (yummier), fresh fruits on the table. And we were welcome to pick fresh veggies from their vegetable garden (yummiest). All the little details were taken care of, including fans in the bathrooms, screens for the patios, an espresso machine, coffee maker, and kettle. And Saverio's Dad rescued us when we messed up on the bus back from Positano one day and came to pick us up. Such a sweet family, a beautiful apartment, and a stunning location! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and would stay again in a heartbeat!
Some tips for staying on the Amalfi Coast - IF you're driving, re-consider. CRAZY! If you're taking public transit, pay close attention to the details...Amalfi is the hub so you have to go there first to get elsewhere. It's totally doable but don't be in a rush to get anywhere because you just never know what's going to happen...it's nothing to wait for a bus for an hour, only to have it pass you by because it's jam-packed full. You're on vacation...chill! IF time is of the essence, then consider a driver as it may be worth the extra $ to get you there/back. AND definitely take a ferry ... not-to-be-missed as the views alone are incredible!
Thanks again Saverio and family. You were awesome!
