  • Welcome to The Blue Cottage on Lake Lanier—your perfect escape for a romantic couple’s retreat, a peaceful long weekend, or a fun getaway with friends and family.

    Located less than 15 minutes north of downtown Gainesville and just over 20 minutes from charming Dahlonega, this cottage offers the ideal blend of convenience, comfort, and lakefront relaxation.

    Step inside and discover a surprisingly spacious home behind its quaint exterior. The gourmet eat‑in kitchen features an induction range , plus dedicated wine and coffee bars. It’s thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials you need for your stay.

    Beyond the kitchen, the expansive great room offers multiple gathering areas, a 70" smart TV, additional dining space, and access to a large screened‑in porch—perfect for morning coffee, evening meals, or simply enjoying serene lake views. The main level also includes a comfortable King Guest Room with a smart TV.

    Downstairs, enjoy a second living area with a 70" smart TV, a pool/ping‑pong table, and cozy seating. This level also includes a spacious guest room with two queen beds.

    Follow the gentle path to your private dock with party deck. Rent a boat from a nearby marina, bring your own (ramp located minutes away), or simply relax with the provided water toys and unforgettable sunsets.

    We’ve designed The Blue Cottage with the same touches we’ve loved in our own vacation stays, and we’re committed to making your visit effortless and enjoyable. If anything comes up, we’re just a call away.

    A starter supply of paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pods, dish soap, and K‑Cups is provided. Kroger is less than 2 miles away, and Publix is approximately 3 miles away for additional needs.

    We hope you love The Blue Cottage as much as we do.

    Please Note:
    • Jet skis at the dock are not available for guest use; rentals are available at local marinas.
    • Accessing the property by boat requires passing under a low‑clearance bridge. Water levels vary, and some vessels may not be able to pass.
    • Pricing is based on double occupancy. Additional guests are $50 per person/per night. Please enter the correct guest count when booking.
    • Unauthorized additional guests will result in a $500 fee plus nightly charges. Maximum occupancy is 6 guests.
    • A Ring doorbell camera is installed at the front porch. Only registered guests are permitted on the property.

Lovely time at Blue Cottage

We had a wonderful vacation at the Blue Cottage! The home is beautiful and incredibly clean. Every need is considered. Kate was very communicative and answered every question, some anticipated before I could even ask. We would certainly stay again.

This is one of the best properties we’ve ever visited. The house was super clean and the owner was fantastic. She had great recommendations and made our experience unforgettable. We visited the area for some concerts in Alpharetta. She took the time to look up who was in concert and upon our arrival, the Alexa started playing their music. This was an incredibly thoughtful touch. We will 100% return.

Amazing Lake Vacay!!

Blue Cottage is everything you want in a lake vacation. The home is beautiful and location on the lake is fantastic. Super relaxing! Great dock! The porch is my favorite place for morning coffee. You really feel at home at Blue Cottage.

Great family and friends getaway

We had a great stay at The Blue Cottage. The house was stunning and had everything we needed for a week by the lake. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with anything you could imagine. It was so much less stressful after traveling from afar to arrive at a home with all of the basic essentials already available. We were able to focus entirely on relaxing, and this was the perfect place to do just that. Kate was a tremendous host - very responsive and really went out of her well to ensure we were comfortable. She thought of everything! This was among our favorite rentals, and we have rented at many different locations. Really terrific.

Beautiful house on the lake

The house was beautiful - high spec decor, fully stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. The position on the lake had perfect views and was really accessible with the kids. The games room, kids outide play area and access to the rowing boat were a huge bonus and meant the children were never bored! The host is attentive with immediate responses to any questions about our stay, we will certainly visit again!

Beautiful week

We had a wonderful week spent on the lake and the house had everything one would need. During a few rainy moments, we kept busy playing Connect 4, ping pong, etc. Kate was an exceptional host and provided top notch hospitality. Highly recommend!

Perfect Thanksgiving

We stayed at The Blue Cottage over the Thanksgiving holiday. I’ve stayed in many Vrbos, but never has one been this well equipped! It was amazing. The house was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and the view of the lake was gorgeous. Honestly, the only thing that would have made it better is if it was my house!

Beautiful lake house right on the lake nice area.

This house is fabulous. It’s better than the pictures show it so welcoming and clean. There was everything imaginable that you would ever need for a lovely vacation. We had a marvelous time and would love to come back to this house. It’s in a great area as well many things to do very close by. Fabulous Lakefront Home and Hostess

This beautifully appointed home is designed for memory making with your loved ones, and includes so many thoughtful items, like the games, yummy smelling soaps, and luxurious bedding. Kate is an incredible hostess and had the house fully decorated for Christmas and holiday music playing on our arrival. We are already discussing future visits!

Beautiful home with everything you need!

The host has left nothing out of this rental. I have stayed in many homes but this one is one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. The host has also provided everything you could ask for in amenities (and more)! It is so nice they allow people to use their kayaks and provide life jackets. The coffee pods were a nice bonus ! I would definitely recommend this home!

Absolutely beautiful!

This property is one of our favorite places that we've ever stayed. It was very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. The house is absolutely gorgeous and the owners have thought of everything! The coffee bar and the game room were a nice touch, and although it was just my husband and I, we had a ton of fun playing pool and ping pong. My only complaint is that the house isn't mine and we don't live there! :)

Perfect Spot

Blue Cottage is a beautiful home that does not feel like a rental at all. The property is well cared for, very clean and each detail has been well thought out. We had every single thing we needed and even things we forgot to bring. Communication with property manager was quick and clear. We will absolutely be back! Highly recommend this adorable home.

Summer at the lake

Our family spends a week on the lake each summer. This year we stayed at the Blue Cottage and had an amazing experience! The home is better than we could have expected. It is beautifully decorated, comfortable for a family of 5, and has everything you could want/need. The boat dock was well maintained and is a perfect spot to watch the evening sunset! Kate & Rick, the hosts, were so kind, accommodating and responsive! I would recommend this home without any hesitation! We definitely plan to return!

Perfect familly vacation!

We had a great time at Blue Cottage. So many activities to keep everyone entertained. So clean and spacious! The kitchen was well equipped for family dinners. The dock space was the hot spot for swimming, fishing and sunning. We caught 8 nice fish during our stay! That blackstone grill was a nice bonus. We even used it for a big family breakfast. Kate and Rich are very cordial and attentive owners. They couldn’t have been nicer to work with.
