Best Vacay Ever

This was the best vacation ever for our family. Our grandkids had the best time and said this was the best vacation they have ever been on! The house was absolutely beautiful,amazing and just breathtaking. You could see the ocean from the deck and it was such a peaceful neighborhood. Mrs Ginger was so sweet and kind to us. Any problems we had she addressed immediately! If you want a beautiful and amazing vacation go here!!! Thank you so much for making it so special for me and my family!! 😊💜💜

Galveston Beach Getaway

The location of the house was perfect. One minute from the beach. On the outside, the house looked fine. Inside was a different story. It was really hot. The upstairs sliding door didn’t close properly so the house was like a sauna. Took ages for the AC to get it to a comfortable level. Dust everywhere. Ceiling fan in living room didn’t work. Door handles missing. Rusted faucets in bathrooms. Transition between two different types of flooring has no threshold. Major tripping hazard! Oven was disgusting, full of grease in the bottom pull out drawer. Roaches in both bathrooms. Woke up to leak in the kitchen ceiling. Too many issues to list. After paying almost two grand for 3 and a half days, we expected more. Would not rent that house again! Not worth the money at all.

A beach house with potential

We recently stayed this past week at the property and I have a mixed review. The property location was nice, easy access to the beach, plenty of space for everyone and the home was fully equipped. The first night we were all so tired from the long drive but everything seemed great. Upon waking the next morning I ran and got donuts for everyone at breakfast then headed to the beach. When we returned the donuts that were fresh and boxed from the store were infested with ants as was the kitchen window, wall and far back counter. We cleaned, bleached and reported it. We were basically told it was because of the donuts. Fast forward to later that evening … the biggest cockroach crawled across the kitchen floor. We all screamed! I took a picture before murdering the thing and sent to the owner, no response. 45 mins later in the bathroom there was an even bigger one. It was me, a family member and Jesus standing there with a shoe. Recorded the thing sprint across the bathroom and sent the video to the owner. Again, no response. We ended the roaches life and disposed of his remains. They were HUGE!! We cleaned before we left but the house was really dusty and needed a good clean. For the cleaning fee you pay, you would expect it to be clean. My littlest was bitten by something (maybe the Ants) multiple times on his legs and had needed antihistamines and steroid creams, The owner could have reimbursed some of the money for the bugs, cleaning, lack of contact and for my kid needing treatment, but chose to not respond at all. Still hasn’t days later! Our bags were left in the garage to sweat in the heat and everything was washed on high heat when home. The house has so much potential but needs repairs (window frames, gate on porch) and needs a massive clean and exterminator. Wouldn’t recommend honestly. I wish I could upload the pictures, videos and conversation with owner.

Hot and dirty

Upon entering the outside picnic table was dirty with broken shells and sand, the other table was rotting and falling apart. We then got inside of a very hot beach house that took 4 hours to finally cool down, then proceeded to the kitchen where I found food cooked on the pots & pans and cutlery and spent 45 minutes cleaning out the filthy coffee maker. The AC would only work at night time and was a smoldering 75-78° during the day as it would continuously freeze up we had to change out a air filter that was filthy. The upstairs bed broke and we had to pretty much MacGyver it ourselves and fix it as we were told that she had maintenance people problems so pretty much that let us know that it was not going to be taken care of and to take care of it ourselves. This house is obviously just used for renters as not much maintenance is put into it which is unfortunate because it is a cute beach house. This is my very first time using Vrbo and probably my last time.

Relaxing getaway

Very relaxing beach vacay. Great views of palm trees and surf from large deck with comfortable seating. Peaceful neighborhood- It was very nice to have a quiet spot to listen to the waves and breeze and birds, rather than seawall traffic, but still be a quick drive to anywhere on on the island. This is more beachfront than a lot of the places advertised as such on the seawall...What separates you from the ocean is just a couple rows of colorful homes and lots of palm trees, not a busy highway. And you still have wonderful views of the gulf. You will hear waves, not traffic, here. Easy, quick walk to great beach. The part in front of the neighborhood is pedestrian only, which is wonderful and peaceful. But you can also drive to the end of the street and turn right for a drive on beach, if that's what you prefer. The home was just like in the pictures. Tasteful, beachy vibe. Host very responsive and accommodating.

Relaxing week at the beach

Things we enjoyed: cute decor, gated porch for dogs, proximity to the beach, proximity to restaurants, peaceful neighborhood. Things needing attention: broken toilet on arrival that was never fixed, house needed some TLC, multiple light bulbs out, fixture hanging out in bathroom, remote in master had exploded batteries, air filters needed changing, had to kill 4 tree roaches in the house. Overall, we had a good week and made it work but would have loved to have a functional toilet in the main bathroom. No, we wouldn't stay again.

We had a tiny glitch with not getting the electronic notification of how to get the key but was quickly resolved by the owner with a quick response. The house was clean and conveniently located. And we thoroughly enjoyed the ping pong table!

“Easter in September”

We have been renting in Galveston for over 30 years with friends. This year we got 2 houses and could not have been any happier with this property. It is well maintained, tastefully decorated in a beach theme, and stocked with everything you might need. The owner responded quickly anytime I had a question. I highly recommend and will be booking it again in the future for my family.

Wonderful experience

This was a great place to meet our son and his family from Louisiana. The house was so convenient to stores and yet within a block of the beach. The owners were very accommodating and always easy to contact with any questions. I highly recommend this property .

Perfect beach getaway!

We had been looking forward to this beach trip for months and it was everything we had hoped for! The house was perfect for our group of four pre-teen/teen girls, a teen boy, a 4 year old, a dog and two sets of parents. The house had great amenities - big open kitchen, a family room we could all fit in complete with a TV with streaming options and a closet full of board games perfect for all ages. The bathrooms are stocked with towels and even include shampoo, conditioner and body wash! The kids loved being able to eat meals at the two picnic tables out on the deck. I loved being able to sit in the rockers on the deck to watch the sunrise and sunset. The house is only a few blocks from the beach so there is quick and easy access so you can go back and forth. There’s a patio under the house with a couch, fire pit and ping pong table, too. Everything looks just as good as it does in the pictures. The owner was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Our trip went by way too fast and we are hoping to make it an annual event.

this house has so many great places to hang out with the family and short walk to the beach.

The house felt like home so fast, it was hard to leave. We had all different ages staying in this house from an 1 year old to a couple grandparents that might also wear diapers and every stage in between and we all loved it. There was so many places to hang out and they had so many fun stuff to play with like ping pong, bikes, table games and a nice close beach. Our trip was one to remember! Thank you!

Wonderful beach getaway

We stayed here for a quick weekend getaway, and this house is fantastic! Close walk to the beach. Cozy living room. Everything is decorated with a charming beachy vibe. The owners were very responsive to questions. It got cold while we were there and we even used the fireplace (a rare find at the beach).

Family weekend

Nice and clean house. Good location. Great storage closet with beach toys and bikes. We really appreciated the amenities like soaps in the bathroom and kitchen items to use. Host was easy to communicate with. Bring bug spray or citronella candles for downstairs area.

Sunny Beach Engagement

Our stay was delightful. The home was spacious and clean. My husband and I enjoyed our stay with our grown children who were visiting., and we had such a special time as our daughter’s boyfriend proposed to her at nearby Fisherman’s Wharf/Elissa. Our d-i-l took some fabulous photos of their special moment as well as some beautiful pics at the beach right by the house. This is now a special place for our family. We will certainly stay again in the future.

Wonderful house!

The house was welcoming and accommodating - had everything we needed for our stay and more. The teenagers loved riding the bikes and the boogie boards and the adults appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds! Would highly recommend staying here and we're already planning our next visit back!

Perfect location and easy to get to the beach

Location was great, the house was cute, but needs a MASSIVE cleaning. Dust and dirt everywhere. I felt quite uncomfortable the majority of the time. The fans had such a coat of dirt on them and the master bathroom had face shavings all over the sink, which means it obviously wasn't cleaned before we got their. My 7 yo had an allergy attach in the middle of the night, which I attribute to the dirt and dust and I was driving around Galveston at 5 trying to find something open with allergy meds (no more 24 hours stores to shop at since Covid). One roll of paper towels, gladly I brought more and cleaned the bathroom before I used it. Upstairs is VERY hot, its the beach, so I get it, but I would never put an adult up there to sleep. The place needs a deep cleaning before anyone stays again, light in living room is going out (you'd think a ghost was there). I loved the location, but I'd defiantly pick a place that has comments on cleanliness over this place again.

Weekend Getaway

This house if beautifully decorated and was perfected for entertaining. We all loved the privacy of the outside area under the house. We were able to grill and play games without everyone who drove by being able to see us. The house has plenty of beds and is very accommodating. Ginger was very attentive any time we had a question before or during our stay. We were asked to load the dishwasher and start it before we left and there was not any dishwasher soap provided (not something we thought to bring) so we hand washed everything. This house could also use a really good deep cleaning. We believe the cleaning service is just making a quick pass through and it needs some extra attention. With that being said, we will book this house in the future.

Great Beach House!!

Absolutely loved this beach house!! View was amazing and beach was walking distance. So many fun games available at the house, both outdoor and indoor board games. We made some great memories. House was very clean and great kitchen for cooking and entertaining our family. We would highly recommend this beach house and we would definitely stay again!!

BEST House in Sunny Beach, Pirates Beach, Galveston!

This was our fifth trip to Galveston island and our 4th house we've rented (3 in Sunny Beach neighborhood and 1 in Pirates Beach) and without a doubt this was the BEST one we've rented. Here are the things that impressed us the most: 1. Communication with Ginger (the host) was incredible. She would communicate with us within minutes and went beyond our expectations in meeting our accommodations and questions. 2. NO NEED TO PACK BEACH TOYS! They HAVE you covered! There is a shed with an amazing wealth of beach pails, shovels, Basketballs, Frisbees, bicycles, Boogie Boards, fishing gear, camping chairs, tents, etc, etc! We were blown away by what they had provided for us to use. 3. The outdoor area is amazing. You can see in the photos the basketball hoop, table tennis area, fire pit, gas grill, dart board, corn hole, picnic tables, sitting areas... it's all incredible! Having it underneath the covered part of the driveway is genius. No matter how hot it is outside, it was always comfortable to be outside in that area and enjoy the activities. It feels like a complete extension of the house itself. 4. The kitchen was fully loaded. I can't imagine you will come up with something that you need in the kitchen that they do not have. Every time we asked ourselves, "I wonder if this kitchen has..." YUP. It did! 5. The attention to detail and love in care of the house was completely evident. From the decorations, cleanliness of the house, and folded towels the complete house experience made us feel like we were family friends with the host and they took extra care and attention in having the house ready and welcoming for us their guest. The overall care of the house made us feel very welcomed like the host was in some way HONORED to have us staying there! It was VIP treatment! ... If I could rate this house 6 out of 5 stars, I would! I NEVER leave reviews online, the fact that I just spent the past 15 minutes typing this review is the highest accolade I could ever give a product or service.
