House was clean, but it was definitely beat up. Location by the beach was amazing with easy access to town. Appreciated little things like all the hooks in the bathrooms for towels, plenty of toilet paper and paper towels, having beach chairs and the umbrella, and a quick and easy response to questions from the property manager.

Excellent location, the immediate beach area is off limits to vehicles, which keeps it quiet and very nice. We had some timing issues so did have to contact the host, who responded very quickly. 100% as advertised, great unobstructed ocean view with a great porch to see it from. There was nothing we needed that wasn't available to us, including some beach necessities. Perfect distance to shopping and food without being downtown, which was fairly busy. Everyone we did business with was super friendly and helpful in town. We rode horses on the beach, bought and flew a kite, rode the ferry to Port Bolivar (and saw dolphins!), and ate at some great places.Recommend: Katie's Seafood in the wharf, Starboard Side Cafe - a food truck that has amazing breakfast, Landry's Seafood, and Kites Unlimited.Would definitely stay again if we come back to the area.

We had a great family stay at this beach house. The home was very clean, and our boys loved the bunk beds and having their own room with a TV. The location was perfect for our trip, and the host was wonderful to deal with. Our cruise embarkation time was mid-afternoon, and he kindly allowed us a late checkout, which made a big difference for our family. We would absolutely stay here again.

The location and view were perfect! The house was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, and we enjoyed the games for much needed laughs and family time. We also utilized the beach chairs and my boys enjoyed the boogie boards for some wave time. It was a week to remember and we’re so grateful that we had such an amazing place to stay. Thank you!

The host and property presented were great, communication was very good. We loved the location, however the construction on the beach right in front of the property was very annoying after mid-week, not the property owners doing, but the 24 hours of bulldozers with their back up beeping totally distracted from the enjoyment of the house. I would stay here again, with the hope and verification that the construction is completed.

We chose to stay here based on good reviews and the location. Our stay landed right in the middle of a 24/7 construction zone of "beach nourishment". 10pm/4am pumping of sand from offshore accompanied by the constant back up alarms and track clatter of 2 bulldozers, a front loader, the sound of mud pumping up on the beach and the din of 8 diesel powered light towers floodlighting the beach all night. A 4 am alarm clock with vibrations into the house from the pumping. I was quite annoyed that there was not an advisory of the construction zone from the management, as this was a scheduled project. Other than "that", the house is showing wear and tear on the edges. Scuff marks on walls, peeling wallpaper, liquid spills on the walls, some stained carpet, broken shower door latch. Someone had tracked numerous sand burrs into the bedroom which I found while walking barefoot. I guess now I'll have to research for nearby construction when planning a trip.

Good: House is across the gravel road from the public beach access and seemed in relatively good condition. AC works well.Bad: bunk room, middle bedroom and both bathrooms were infested with hundreds of fire ants. Complained to the owner after multiple ant bites on adults and children. In lieu of offering an actual solution, owner suggested rubbing honey or using a warm spoon on ant bites and said we should try harder not the track them in from outside... Also good I guess: the couch is ok to sleep on if the bedrooms become unusable for any reason.

Was a fantastic trip! My wife, three children, and grandma and grandpa loved the house and the location. It was cozy with all of us, but I think having the covered deck to sit out on gives the house a very roomy feel. The location was amazing for the kids - walk out the door and you’re on the beach! We spent 90% of our trip at the beach and the house. I really enjoyed my morning coffee on the front deck watching the sun come up. What a view. The house is well stocked for cooking and fun. Some beach chairs, umbrella, and a toy chest for the kids. We had a day of zero wind so the love bugs showed up all over but they don’t bite or anything, it’s just a weird sight (just putting that in here in case people are as confused as I was about them). Internet was great!

We really enjoyed our weekend in this lovely house! We were two families of four, and though the house isn't huge, we never felt cramped. Perfect location on the beach. There was a variety of beach chairs and toys, which was super-convenient. We cooked several meals, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We also really loved spending time on the covered patio!
