We enjoyed staying here, it was clean and comfortable. The reason that I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, is because the broom was broken, there was only one sheet pan and no other baking dishes, and the wifi did not work. The owner did spend multiple hours trying to fix the wifi, which we appreciated but in the end we had to buy extra data from our mobile provider. Overall I would stay again.

Location was great, deck was awesome, super close to beach access. A/C, fridge, and shower all worked. However, the beach stress is showing on the structure. Doors stuck, uneven flooring, faded paint and sun beaten. Strange electric hums and clicks inside. Every switch makes you feel like you're about to be electrocuted. The road and part of the driveway is also made of sand, something we were unprepared for and almost got stuck.

Best thing about this property is the location. House is need of updating and repairs. Grass appeared to not have been mowed all summer. Buckles and soft spots on flooring. Stove burners do not sit flush therefore making it difficult to cook. Screen door sticks making it hard to open and close. Shelves in shower broken and doors do not slide with ease. Blinks broken and overall cleanliness was muh at best.

Location is GREAT! All else - eh ...

Location is GREAT! All else - eh ... Accuracy of the listing is pretty far off from reality. The listing says 2 TVs but only one is installed. The outside looks worn and a bit ignored for some time. The entrance door/frame to the deck is warped and the lock bolts do not properly engage. The deck dining furniture is badly rusted and unsafe. All of the 4 chairs wobble significantly and 1 fully collapsed. The railing and wall paint is peeling and nail/screw/staples are rusted & showing through paint. In my opinion, the deck needs replacing. The deck to house storm door will not close. All wall light switches broken and/or missing pieces - some work. The living room floor covering is buckled down a line in the center of the floor and the subfloor seems suspect. The stove has no burners that lay down flat making cooking challenging. The kitchen sink is rusted and the faucet damaged. The bathroom's towel racks were not mounted and laying on the vanity. The glass shower shelves were missing from the shower and laying on the sink. One of the shower door roller(s) is missing and makes closing doors to shower very challenging. We booked this beach house to meet with our kiddos and dogs and enjoy the beach - we did that so not all was a loss.

Not Very Nice

The house is just not very nice. It was worn out. The house is located on the public access road to the beach, so expect tons of load traffic and loud music from 6:00am to midnight. There is no access to the beach from the house. You have to walk around and down the public access road. The grass/weeds were knee high all around the house (ugly). In the ONE bathroom, 1 lightbulb out of 8 worked. All of the switch plates over the lights switches were broken and gone. The air conditioner could not chill below 72. There were several places you felt like you would fall through the subfloor. There was black grunge in the master bedroom between all of the fake tile and the plastic baseboards. The Tv wouldn’t turn off. The house is not NEARLY as nice as the photos make it look. I would definitely NOT book here again.

We loved our long weekend get away! The kitchen was well stocked with all essentials for cooking, fixing for making food! The bed were comfortable! We would stay again!

Beautiful View

This house has beautiful views with a great deck to enjoy it from. The house was clean and comfortable.The beach was not crowded and easy to access. We enjoyed the ice cream truck that came through. The house did need some minor repairs and the public access next to the house does create a lot of traffic and noise.

Amazing location!

This rental is the perfect location away from the touristy spots--you are right on the beach. We absolutely loved being right on the beach. Working with the owner/staff was great--very helpful (we temporarily lost the house key and they drove to meet us to get us a back up very quickly!). Inside of the house was very clean and tidy; a great little set up for a couple or family of 4.

Galveston Beach House

The house in general was nice and clean. I appreciated the inside but when we got there, there was a foot and a half of water flooding the entire yard. We had to wade through this to get to the stairs to get to the house and carry all our luggage through this also. There was a transfer pump in the garage area so obviously it’s had to be used before. Also the washer didn’t work and we had packed light planning on using the washer and dryer. Was very inconvenient. They’re did bring us more clean towels when I called. Communicate fairly well.

Great vacation!

Perfect little house for my Husband daughter and I! So close to the beach. Very comfortable beds and living room chairs. But make sure you bring bug spray, the mosquito’s are so bad! They bite you through your shirt. Other than that it was a perfect little getaway.

Not as advertised

The house is not at all as advertised. Upon arrival it was filthy. Dirty sheets, bedding and towels. Piles of dead roaches flies and other bugs all around the house. The outside shower was unusable due to rust and the insane amount of mosquitos as was the garage in general as well as the washer and dryer which meant we couldn’t wash any of our Sandy beach stuff. One of the main reasons we chose that particular house was because of the outside shower, that was disappointing to say the least. On top of that, the inside shower door was broken which made showering inside even more difficult. The patio area is dangerous and really needs some upkeep. It’s not safe for small children due to u finished wood, exposed rusted nails. You have to watch every step to ensure not to step on an exposed rusted nail. As if that isn’t enough the first night we hardly could even sleep due the to amount of mosquitos inside the home. We went and spent over 100$ just trying to get rid of some of the mosquitos so we could sleep. I spend my entire first night with no sleep up trying to kill mosquitos so they don’t bite my sleeping children all night. Then because of the dead mosquitos there were dead bugs and blood splatters all over the floor and of course there was no broom or mop. so disappointing. The house was no where near ready for guests and it was as if no one really took the time to prepare for guest arrival. Up all night cleaning and fighting off bugs is not a vacation.

Nice place

Good condition. Great view of the ocean. They aren't kidding - just a few steps and you are on the beach. A few lights out, switches that didn't work (or that we could not figure out), shower door not working correctly, general wear and tear from life on the coastline. Not sure why there are more AV remotes than equipment. LOL. We only spent one night of our 4-night reservation due to Tropical Storm Alberto and the rising water, but it was a good night. We all wanted to stay the whole time. I would have called management the next day about the shower door and lights, if we had stayed. I did send an email. Thanks.
