"Amazing hotel with a vibrant young staff. The rooftop bar serves excellent cocktails, and the restaurant is also top-notch – definitely a highlight of the stay. However the atmosphere created by American tourists were noticeable. A certain amount were very loud and lacked consideration for others, which affected the overall very elegant ambiance. As an European traveler seeking a quieter or more cultured environment this might be a downside."

"The room was comfortable, tasteful, taller ceiling, but could be a little dark at night. The mini refrigerator was convenient, but without a microwave it meant more drinks than actual food, unless it was already cold, like a dessert. Having a small table and chairs was a nice treat to sit down and eat in the room. The place was filled with more foreigners than locals. There is an app you can get to use the public washer and dryer for your clothes, but be aware everyone is trying to use it too. This was a nice choice to get to most of the shopping and tourist areas. If you wanted to wander further into normal neighborhoods with smaller mini marts, that wasn’t too far either. It was definitely a nice place to stay."

"My girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel for three nights in June. Our room was great because our view was of the river and hills and we could see people walking in the neighborhood from our window. I have celiac disease and was concerned about the breakfast, unsure of what I could eat. I spoke with Restaurant Assistant Manager Yuki Nabeshima and he was fantastic. He took the time to point out all the gluten free foods. Yuki said he was concerned about potential cross contamination if I selected carved beef from the tray. Each morning he took a plate into the kitchen and had the man carving beef, cut fresh slices and put them directly onto my plate. My girlfriend and I had relaxing breakfasts each morning because we knew, thanks to Yuki, that my food was gluten free. We really enjoyed our stay at the Cross Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone. "

"Highly highly recommend! As soon as you step foot into the hotel, the service was amazing! The staff did not speak great English, but we were able to use simple words to communicate. The property itself is immaculate! No shoes are allowed as soon as you entered the hotel. I wore my white socks around the hotel all day and the bottom was still clean at the end of the day. You always see someone mopping or cleaning. The complimentary services (coffee, matcha, water, ice cream, soba noodles) was such a fantastic treat. Their breakfast buffet is a must because it is so delicious. The late night soba is also a must! The onsite onsen is also a must try. There were so many different pools and it was super clean! Overall, this is the best hotel we’ve have stayed at. The price per night is a great steal for this 5-star hotel!"

"The location is very close to Kyoto train station. It's accessible via underground as well in case if it's raining. There are many F&B nearby. Overall, happy staying at this hotel."

"We stayed for 2 nights: our rooms are very quiet, the AC in the rooms are also very quiet. It seems the Japanese hotels are able to manage their air vents much better than most American hotels. The showers are very very good, bed sheets and pillows are comfortable. WiFi is fast. There's 1 thing I would like the hotel to improve: the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired: they obviously try to cater to the white people, but bakeries taste all stale, even the bread on their made to order avocado toast tastes like Safeway bread that expired a week ago. One waiter speaks English, but was curt, rude, unhelpful. Coffee was similar to pot coffee in a 2 star American hotel."

"We liked the hotel a lot, beautiful decorations spacious room, comfortable beds, very clean helpful staff. Nice bathroom. A very convenient location just a block away from the train station. A 7eleven almost across from the hotel. Good air conditioning made out stayed wonderful."
