「We went on a trip for my birthday. We usually travel to Rockport for my birthday, but my father in law's place was occupied, so we decided to do something different this year. All I can say is that we had a great time and if your looking for some peace and quiet, this is the place to go! We had a very great experience and we will be going again when we get the chance.」

「What a great property. Our family had a blast in the lake, fishing, watching movies and in the game room. We loved the lodge and the area it provided 40 of us to hang out. We had a couple of small requests while were there and were so impressed with the quick communication and responses. Can't wait to come again!」

「The private pier was awesome, we used it mostly for fishing but it was also nice for just relaxing. We caught trout, catfish, and alligator gar. A very quiet and friendly neighborhood. We hope to return. Hosts were very nice to work with.」

「Property was set up beautifully along the water. We saw a dolphin while fishing. All items were there for a great experience. Would recommend this to anyone. Only downside is distance away from stores if needed. But the owner clearly informs you of this prior to your stay.」

「We've stayed three times in this neighborhood and this has been our favorite property so far. Kevin and Fran have made lots of updates. It's great having the boat dock at the house and a public ramp right down the street. While the fish didn't cooperate this time, we still had a blast celebrating Easter and hanging out with friends.」

「This is our 3rd time at this property and as always we very much enjoyed it. The house is great and everything you need is available in the unit. Very quiet and very peaceful area. Hubby enjoyed fishing on the pier and I just enjoyed relaxing for a few days. We will be back again soon.」

「I lived in Port Lavaca for 30 years and had to come back to help a family member. All my years living there I never thought I would be staying in what was the old Viking Inn. The new owners have really fixed up this place. Room was super clean and staff were so friendly. Don't expect a lot for this price but do expect a very nice and simple but very clean room and facility. I love small boutique type roadside hotels and this is one. 」
