In the evening when this photo was taken, the canyon takes on a soft, almost painterly light. If you can, make a visit right after sunrise and return for the sunset.

  • We visited this location but ideally needed to be there in the afternoon as the sun was on the "wrong" side of the arch. I used a wide lens to capture the arch and didn't attempt to correct the distortion as I felt it added to the picture (for me anyway). It took a long time to get this without hoardes of people in the shot.

We stayed for 6 nights at the cabin and it was perfect for our vacation. We were up early to go into the park and then could walk to dinner in town. I loved sitting out on the deck and listening to the river. They had most everything you would need to relax and enjoy the views if Electric Peak.

Right on the Yellowstone River!

Very nice place minutes from North entrance. Deck was lovely overlooking the river. Would definitely recommend this place to stay!
