  • Top of Germany! The Zugspitze, at 2,962 m above sea level, is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains as well as the highest mountain in Germany. It lies south of the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and the Austria–Germany border runs over its western summit. South of the mountain is the Zugspitzplatt, a high karst plateau with numerous caves. On the flanks of the Zugspitze are three glaciers, including the two largest in Germany: the Northern Schneeferner with an area of 30.7 hectares and the Höllentalferner with an area of 24.7 hectares. The third is the Southern Schneeferner which covers 8.4 hectares.

Location is great! 5mins walk to the Zugspitze Bahnhof and 7-8mins walk to the main City Center with a lot of shops. Lidl is located just across the street with openings Mon-Sat 8-20hr. With a 5-10mins walk you can reach a lot of good restaurants. Very convenient. Hotel buffet breakfast is very nice with a lot of choices. The mountain view suite is enough big for 2 people and the room design is modern and new. The hot water is not stable though and the parking is expensive - the only two things not good enough for a 4-5 star hotel. Could have charged less to encourage people to park in the hotel's garage.

The hotel is excellent, and well located the rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. The facilities are well maintained, and we always had hot water. We enjoyed using the pool, although the jacuzzi was only lukewarm, which made it difficult to use in the cold weather, so we only went once. The breakfast offers a great variety of options. One improvement would be more transparency during check-in, as paying at the end was a bit confusing for us. Overall, our stay was very pleasant.

We have stayed here five times recently, every stay was great, good breakfast, friendly staff, great pool and spa, not many Mountain View’s ( due to weather) usually fantastic views though. This hotel always has a lovely atmosphere. We had a problem with streaming service in our room, someone came to look at it, but it wasn’t repaired by time we left. We only had world news to watch in evening.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay, especially the guided hikes provided through the hotel with Hermann. Hermann was a delightful and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the many options available at breakfast each morning. Would highly recommend this property for its location to hiking trails, as well as local restaurants and shops.

Das Hotel ist modern und liegt perfekt in Garmisch nahe der Innenstadt. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich und die Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet. Es gab keinerlei Beanstandung und auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war sehr gut.

Upea hotelli erittäin kauniilla paikalla. Huone ja hotelli yleisestikin oli todella siisti. Suosittelen huonetta vuoristonäkymällä, sillä se oli upea! Pysäköinti helppo ja ihan ok hintainen. Aamupala oli kattava ja maistui hyvin. Kylpylä- ja saunatilat olivat hienot.
