Family Visit

Long weekend trip to see family and the location couldn’t be more beautiful. Quiet neighborhood, large deck with a great view, roomy inside and Marian was great to work with. Will come back next time we see family.

Fantastic place!

We loved staying here! We enjoyed the redwoods, the ocean and floating the river, but the deck overlooking the Smith River is the best part of BMH! And we love the host's hospitality.

Beautiful stay on the Smith River

We very much enjoyed this opportunity to stay on the crystal clear Smith River. Marian, the delightful manager, was especially helpful in tips on restaurants and side trips.

Awesome vacation getaway (BMH) “bite my hook” vacation rental.

We absolutely loved our stay at BMH, and would definitely stay again. Beautiful view of the Smith River. Fully stocked house with many amenities (bbq, fire pit, etc.) Just up the road from many great Hiking and fishing locations as well. Perfect Redwood Location

My husband got up and fished every morning, home was fully equipped to cook, beautiful view of Smith River and Host was so informative and accommodating! Hope to return and stay longer!

Perfect Thansgiving getaway

Stayed at the cabin Thanksgiving week and had an amazing time. Beautiful location plus the house was impeccably clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need! Perfect place for day trips to amazing Redwood hikes and cozy days at home. Thanks to Marian for being such a gracious host and can't wait to come back!

Road Trip

This stay was our stopping point of a 2024 road trip. We wish we could have stayed longer because sitting on the back deck looking at the crystal clear Smith River was just wonderful. And being so close to the Redwood National Park was an added bonus. Marian and John were great hosts and gave us suggestions on some additional hikes close by. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Very comfortable place over looking the river.

Really enjoyed the deck over looking the river. Great location and quiet neighborhood. Access to the river is very steep and inaccessible for older folks.

Adorable, Cozy Cabin on the River

This was a lovely stay. We booked the cabin for a redwoods/ocean vacation and could not be happier. The cabin is a cozy, clean stay that overlooks the Smith River. The propane fire pit on the deck was a highlight! Neighborhood is cute and great for walks. Our hosts were kind, helpful, and were available for any questions. Highly recommend!

Perfect location

Staying right on the river was really great and the access was good. We enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing. The house was dated, but perfectly fine for our family gathering. Most of our time was spent on the deck with plenty of privacy and beautiful views. We would stay there again.

Not for seniors with disabilities. Were looking forwarrd to. It was sweltering in s i being on the lake not above it with too steep a desent for us to walk it. Steps upto the house were not for us either. It was way hot 102 and we had been asked not to use air conditioner much. It was sweltering inside so we did use the air unit although it wasnt sufficient for the whole house. Kitchen was well stocked. Hair dryer would have been handy. All in all if we were physically more abled it would be a nice retreat but not when its hot. We came to enjoy some fishing from the yard but never put a hook in the water. TV controller hard to understand. It just wasnt what we expected.

Beautiful & Relaxing

My fiancé and I and our furbabies found this beautiful little spot for our first time visiting the Redwoods. Marian was a wonderful host, very friendly and kind made everything very easy for us. Everyone in the neighborhood was very friendly. The house is perfect, beautiful view right on the deck with a nice little fireplace that we enjoyed very peaceful. Not far from everything we wanted to see. We definitely plan on coming back.
