The facility and service was great, but they allow young kids and young teens to stay at the facility and made the whole experience significantly worse with noise and running around the collidors late into the night

The location and overall condition were good but they could use more showers and bathrooms. Additionally, the breakfast is somewhat limited but is adequate. I was going to have dinner there one night but there were literally about 100 teenagers for an event and the chaperones had them start lining up for dinner at the same time as I was entering so I took a pass.

Breakfast was convenient and a good start to the day. The bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. Lockers for storage were big. Rooms did not have easy way to regulate heat which caused overheating at night.

A Comfortable Stay in Geneva with a Few Downsides

I stayed at this hostel in Geneva for two nights, and overall, it was a positive experience. The room was clean, and the price included a simple but good buffet breakfast, as well as a free public transport pass that you can start using from the moment you arrive at the airport until the end of your stay—definitely a nice perk. The location is excellent—very close to the main train station and the FlixBus stop, which was super convenient for me. The hostel also offers plenty of common areas where you can study, relax, or hang out before heading out or winding down at night. One thing to note: towels are not included in the price. You can rent one for 13 CHF (Swiss Francs)—10 CHF is a refundable deposit and 3 CHF is the rental fee. If you’ve forgotten anything, like toothpaste or earplugs, you can purchase it at the hostel, which is helpful. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The hostel doesn’t seem to enforce a quiet time, and during my stay, a school group was making noise on my floor around midnight and even again at 3 AM. I believe it would really help if a quiet time policy—say from 9 PM to 6 or 7 AM—were implemented and clearly communicated during check-in and when booking online. Also, the Wi-Fi was a bit too slow for my needs. Despite these issues, I had a good stay and would still consider returning if I ever visit Geneva again.

Not worth the hassle.

Nice building, neatly laid out but severely understaffed. Long waits at reception, for using lifts, breakfast etc. Toilets blocked. Locks in shower falling off doors. Rooms were hot and noisy. The constant opening and closing of lockers in corridors is soooooooo noisy. Worst of all, the plug to charge a phone (situated horizontally above the bed!!!) did not work. I told reception and was told nothing could be done. Go figure. An awful night in a place that was actually aesthetically very pleasing. Poor maintenance and cleaning...

The Geneva Hostel is *almost* a good value. The cost is right, but the property needs help. The wi-fi continually went out. The urinal in my floor's restroom was out-of-order, so if anyone was using the one stall, you had to go through the lobby to get to the only other one my key card would allow access to. While it's nice they offered breakfast, the choices were limited to the same bloody things...every single day. The complete lack of imagination by the chef is unbelievable, especially since Switzerland is known for extremely good food. My room was extremely noise, caused entirely by the guests of the room (with some coming in and turning on the lights at 2 am, taking 30-60 minutes to do what they needed to do before going to bed). The hostel needs to add hooks for towels/coats and add curtains around the beds for privacy, or at least to shield residents from the light being switched on the middle of the night.

This hostel did the job as a safe, clean place to sleep for the night but I wouldn’t book again based on the vibe. It had a quiet, clinical atmosphere like purgatory that made it feel weird to talk to other people. The common areas were sort of spread out and fragmented, and the main area to spend time outside your room had the air of a very quiet airport gate, with spread out seating and fluorescent lights. They also have you make your own bed (in my case an upper bunkbed) which was unfortunate because I got in at 1am and others were already asleep in my room. Might be worth it if you’re going to save a lot of money.
