“The house is very well maintained and cared for, the story and its relation to preserving R66 history is wonderful. The hosts were flexible with check-in timing, there is plenty of space for parking and the front porch swing adds a great vibe. Overall, a reasonably priced and comfortable stay! Would definitely recommend.”

“My wife and I spent a relaxing weekend at this property. The walking trail was a 10/10 for our pups. Everything about this place was amazing and we could not recommend it enough. Kevin went out of his way to make our check in as easy as possible.”

“An outstanding place and excellent host. The prairie setting is absolutely sublime, and the house was clean and cozy. It had everything we needed, including fresh cookies! We wish we would have stayed longer. Kevin was very responsive to our messages and even gave us a tour of his incredible prairie and grounds. You won’t find another place like this: it’s a complete original. Looking for an excuse to come back again for a longer stay.”

“The house was clean. We had plenty of linens. It was easy to find. Appreciated that our car could be parked off the street and into the driveway. We were traveling with a dog 🐕. Backyard was chain linked fenced which was great in leaving the dog outside off leash. We didn't find pots or pans or utensils in kitchen to do "food prep". There were baking sheets for heating frozen/already prepared food items in the oven or the microwave. Mike was easy to work with and communicate with.”

“Lovely house, clean, good location, and very comfortable for our stay”

“Oh my word this place is incredible. Bed was comfortable great location and the original aspects of the old building brought up to date with modern convenience. I think Jennifer and I will be getting more acquainted because I have a hard time finding a decent place to stay when I come to my hometown to visit. Carlinville is good little town close to my hometown and made attending my best friends wedding in Gillespie a breeze. We will be back.”

“Nice cozy bungalow in convenient location to historic restaurant and good bakery. Easy check in and very friendly and helpful host. Pet friendly with fenced back yard. Had all amenities with well stocked kitchen. Had to wash a few glasses and coffee carafe needed cleaning but was a good stay!”

“We were able to return to stay a few more days, and the cabin work perfectly for us. The kitchen has everything you need and all of the cookware was cleaned in great condition. The fridge, oven and dishwasher looked like they were brand new and everything worked exactly as expected. The bathroom has a tub which has a large "rain" type of shower head and there is plenty of hot water. The proximity to Beaver Dam is probably one of my favorite things about the house because my family loves to……

“Return visit for us. Well located with ample space for a family and nice yard. Clean well appointed. Highly recommend. We will stay again!”

“This is a great little house, close to town with everything you need. The host Mike and Amy are very resposive and accommodating. We will for sure use it again on our next stop through the area.”

“The host was very helpful when we lost power during a storm.”

“The house is beautiful. A very comfortable stay. It was very clean and well stocked with anything you might need. The host is very gracious. She was quick to respond to any request and reached out to us when we left something behind. We were able to retrieve it before leaving town. It was a lovely place to stay. Highly recommended.”

“Great place in a quiet charming town.”

“Wonderful stay would recommend”
