After parking and walking around the perimeter of the lodge, we found a keypad which rang into the host of the property. The host was relaxed and laid-back, which spoke to the location of our stay; Can Bassa is tucked 25-minutes outside of Girona, with no local amenities (gas, grocery, food) accessible. “The hotel, room and location are beautiful. The property itself is spacious, comfortable and the interior design reflects the surrounding area and vibe quite well without being gimmicky. The owner was there to greet us when we arrived and give us a little tour. We did get the impression that it's not currently being run as a "full time" operation because we were the only guests and never saw any other staff apart for the nice lady serving us breakfast. I had to leave one night early and asked at reception whether the unused night could be credited. The person at the desk told me it would be credited, but later the hotel denied the credit through Expedia. If the answer was no, they should have said that clearly at the time. Being told one thing in person and then having the request denied……
