Cute coastal rental!

Cute little cottage, cozy atmosphere & well stocked kitchen. Short walk to beach. Fire pit in backyard was a fun way to relax after the day's activities. Fireplace inside was wonderful for chilly mornings. Would stay here again.

Quiet getaway spot

Great little cottage with room to spread out. Located in an out of the way spot, we could do the tourist thing during the day in Newport or Lincoln City and come home to peace and quiet. Short walk to an uncrowded beach as well.

Super cute and dog friendly house, close to the beach and great location. If i’m getting SUPER nit picky then small things like the windows and there was a little dog poop in the yard but none of those made the house or trip less enjoyable. 5 stars and totally recommend!!

Beach getaway

Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. Beds were comfortable enough for decent sleep. Shower was small but functional. Driveway definitely could fit two normal sized cars, bumper to bumper, although was a bit narrow. Quite close to the beach access point.

3rd time is a charm

This is our third time staying at Cottage in the Grove. Perfect for a couple with a dog. Would not recommend for larger groups. The location to the beach is perfect, the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Side Door Cafe is a 3 minute walk from the house if you want a nice dinner for take out or dine in.

A really cute little place near Lincoln City that is close to the beach.

The house is comfortable and in a great location. We walked to the beach a couple of times a day. It was never crowded and the few people we saw were very friendly, most of them live there. It's not a luxury rental, but it is clean, quiet & comfortable. The firepit in the backyard is a nice touch - we sat outside one evening & made s'mores. The DVD player didn't work but that was not a big problem - a minor inconvenience. Overall, this place is a great value for the price.

Cute place to stay

It was a nice little cottage for a quick getaway. The check in and out were easy, the place was clean (just visual wear and tear that happens with an older building but it was clean!), well stocked kitchen of many tools and appliances you might need to cook. Washer and dryer worked fine- watch the washer it can get out of balance and shake out of its spot. The beach was close, it’s a quiet little neighborhood. Lovely time, no issues

The room smelled of mildew and mold which was not quite disguised by Lysol or some type of mildew odor remover. The walls in the bathroom have clearly been stained by mold and mildew.Is it disappointing to see how dirty the floor was under the recliner and realized that behind the couches and other crevices in the house were not very clean. Not sure why we paid a cleaning fee for a place that clearly is not being regularly cleaned.We had to take our dog to the vet upon getting home for a bacterial infection and both my wife and I have sore throats and believe it is because of the mold that is more than likely in the walls.Amenities were very lacking. Most notably both the hair dryer and portable fan were broken.

Not what they say!

Sad little cottage Bathroom has visible and smelly mold. Drains do not drain. Inside of kitchen cupboards falling apart, making you debate if you want to use dishes and cups. Property as a whole is run down and uncared for.

Happy camper

All was well except the door lock. It was night when we arrived and the wind was blowing; very cold. After many attempts to work the lock we gave up and called the host. He was very nice and said he would bring a key as the lock box didn’t contain a key. While he was coming we tried the door lock one more time and it opened. Once inside every thing was excellent.

Great location!

Overall my fiancé and I loved this place! I will say the photos are quite different then what it currently looks like. There are no longer the bunk beds, we didn’t have access to the bikes also but this wasn’t a big deal. We loved how close this was to the beach, and how homey it felt. My only complaints would be that the indoor fire place would immediately trigger the fire alarm, so we opted to not use it. We also noticed that there was a lot of dust and unclean surfaces, as well as half used shampoo available. Not huge issues because we were more interested in exploring, but for the price, the cleaning could be a bit better. For the location, I would highly recommend this house.

Exceptional Property

My wife and I are always looking for a cozy place on the Oregon coast that will take dogs. Last year we found a place that ended up being a nightmare. Not as advertised, extremely small, allowed pets but was basically a bad hotel room. We were looking for something stand alone this year, a little closer to the beach. Found this wonderful cottage and booked it, hoping for a better experience this year. It was everything we could’ve hoped for. It would be a little small for bigger groups, but was more than enough for the wife and two dogs. Very quiet neighborhood, parking was a little tight for a truck, but we had no issues. Cottage was clean and comfortable, honestly only stopped by to rest a minute or sleep. We did not use any amenities, but nice to know all of them were available if we needed. We look forward to staying again next year.

A good stay

The cottage was clean, cozy, and comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful beach nearby, and got to see seals splashing in the surf. It was disappointing, though, that a number of the entertainment amenities in the listing were either unusable or missing altogether. The few board games were incomplete or lacking instructions. The foosball table was broken; there was no Wii, and no Roku box. Fortunately the weather cooperated so we weren't overly reliant on indoor entertainment. An e-mail describing these issues to Vacasa has thus far been unanswered. The clothes washer seems to be in need of repair as well--it made an awful racket during the spin cycle. These concerns should be easily remedied, or the described amenities should simply be removed from the listing.
