Although this hotel is in a fairly noisy part of town (train station etc) when the windows are closed it's totally fine. We stayed in a very large beautiful room and loved everything about this hotel. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, great customer service. Would highly recommend.

We stayed for two nights and this was our favorite hotel out of our two week Scandinavian vacation. The staff was friendly and helpful the room was clean and comfortable and the location was great, right next to the train station. Breakfast was wonderful, with lots of choices. The room was beautiful, as was the lobby and restaurant. Would definitely recommend to others and we would definitely stay again!

Loved it!

Beautiful historic hotel with a balcony. 2 minute walk from central station and 1 minute walk to tram transportation. So convenient to get around and staff was very nice! Only downside is no AC but we were aware before booking.

Gem of a Hotel

Fantastic Hotel. Location great - 5 mins from railway station. Staff in hotel very efficient & friendly. Room was fantastic- bed comfortable and plenty of room. Hotel bar was great as well as a fantastic breakfast- highly recommend. Loved Gothenburg as well.

An old-style hotel with all the comforts. The bed and room were fine. There is a nice, intimate sitting area with free coffee, tea, and fruit. The position is perfect, with access to all trams, buses, and the central rail station. Best of all, there is a lovely breakfast.

Won’t stay anywhere else when we return

Everything about our stay was absolutely incredible. As we checked in they let us know that since we were staying longer that they upgraded our room, which was a very nice surprise. Breakfast everyday was very stocked and plenty of options so that you don’t have to have the meal twice. 10/10 would recommend.

The best of boutique hotels

A truly fantastic location and a lovely historic hotel with great breakfasts. We did not eat there in the evenings as it was fully booked. The cocktails are excellent and pretty reasonable for Scandinavia.

Old World Charm

What a great traditional hotel. Old time classic building with a creative interior to match. Well thought out. Very clean and seems well managed. Location is super central in front of the main train station. It can get a bit noisy with the rail traffic but you will adjust. Overall I highly recommend this as a traditional location with old world charm.

A great place to visit and be part of.

Sometimes a hotel feels like home. We have totally different design and style at home, but coming "home" to Eggers is meeting the same staff in the restaurent, so polite, genuine interested. People is 70% and the rest is only sleeping at a hotel.

Such a positive and totally comfortable experience. Welcomed by warm and very friendly reception lady and a surprise room upgrade. This is a historical hotel with a ton of character. The staff is very friendly. The rooms spacious, and a decent restaurant and bar in the lobby. It’s right next to train station. Word of caution. It’s loud and there is no air conditioning. The double windows seal out the sound at night effectively, but if you don’t like warm rooms best to stay away during the warm months.

Grand old hotel, right where you would want to be.

Very nice hotel (if you have an outward facing room with a balcony). Right next to trams, bus from airport and station and walking distance to just about everything you will want to visit (including a nice park nearby). [ that said, note as of July 2025 Gothenburg is one huge building site - think Crossrail/HS2 - with lots of restricted access, tram lines disrupted, the waterfront a mess, the Palm House closed and scaffolded for the foreseeable future. ] Reception staff are good and friendly (they should have pointed out the free maps though). The front bar patio area is very nice to use, service is excellent and food, albeit expensive like all Gothenburg, is good. Don't approve of it being out of bounds to residents when the once a month (fee payable) concert is on though, although the curiously the inside bar was deserted whilst that was on, so a bit swings and roundabouts. Breakfast is excellent - good quality, broad mix of pretty much everything you might want, readily replenished with adequate seating throughout the 3 hours it is available. Minuses (not many....). - There should be free water in an expensive hotel. There is however free tea and coffee in reception and comfy seats to drink it. - no air conditioning - you can open tthe big windows but the trams run from about 0430 to midnightish and screech a bit. Actually you don't notice after a while. It was drizzly so not a problem for us. - wifi is consistently good but not enough sockets or USB points for recharging
