The room was clean, staff were very nice, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was very good . Parking is adequate. We like that it’s right on the lakefront and in town and stores are walkable. Everyone we met/talked to were friendly and gave useful information as it’s our first time in this area, wish we could stay more than a night!

Beds creaked. Beds kind of uncomfortable. Not their fault but seagulls were incredibly loud and kept us up at times. Seemed out dated style wise. Was central so that was great. Had onsite parking which was great.

The staff is the best. Evidently weather over the winter damaged a lot of things and the rooms I’ve stayed in aren’t what I’ve been used to when spending $200+/night. However, the staff and the location are the best. If you’re like me, you’re not spending your time in your room anyway when you visit Grand Marais.

It was comfortable enough. It looked like some improvements were happening. It is somewhat dated which is not a problem but our room really smelled like cat urine. Location was fantastic. It could use a sprucing up but everyone was nice and the views were amazing.

We were greeted warmly and was happy to find out that the management changed their policy regarding allowing bikes into the hotel rooms (albeit they have to be clean - totally get it). Hopefully they replace the picture window in room 211 to be able actually have a lake view. It was a great stay. Thank you very much! I will stay again.

Clean but very outdated. Leaky bathtub faucet and the bathtub and sink did not drain quick enough so filled with water. Overhead lights did not turn on. Carpet was clearly very old and windows were either missing screens or tricky to open. Bed was comfortable. Staff was nice. Breakfast was simple but was enough.

Very dated and in need of repairs and updates. No hot water coming from the bathroom sink faucet, faucet wouldn’t turn off, hole in carpet, gaps in the door, windows wouldn’t open, peeling wall paper, and mattress was pretty bad. Very nice front desk staff and the room was clean. Location and view were amazing but very overpriced for the condition of the room.

Great location right on Lake Superior, right in the middle of the main part of the city. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Enjoyed playing games in the common area and using the hot tub / pool facilities (agreement with nearby hotel). Breakfast was good and very convenient.

I rented three rooms for two nights June 6 and 7th. Rooms 209, 211, 215. One room the shower did not work. The key fob system was difficult to use and only one key fob per room. All the rooms lacked windows that opened and no screens were available. Air got quite stale and hot. Thermostats were hanging loose from the wall. The second day with fans it got somewhat better. The staff helped some. The hallways and room carpet were quite stained, dirty and old. The rooms were just marginal for the cost of the rooms. We will not be returning to the Grand Marais MN Shoreline Hotel 218-387-2633. In the future. Anthony Segale 612-272-0010
