Pah Bungalow, Tryphenia
Rebuilt in 2008 this classic bungalow offers unrestricted views of Pah beach and out to Tryphena harbour, often with spectacular sunsets. The living area is open plan with indoor/outdoor flow onto expansive decks. The house offers modern kitchen, quality fittings and fixtures and double glazing throughout. Across the road are the popular Pah Beach Cafe, Currach Irish pub and Stonewall Store. The beach is very safe and if you're lucky you will see dolphins swimming close to shore. The bungalow is situated 5km from the ferry wharf at Tryphena and approximately 9km from the main airfield at Claris.
The property is fully fenced for additional safety and privacy.

Great place!
Lovely bach right next to the shop, cafe and pub! The owner Brent is very friendly and accommodating, he popped in most days, he allowed us to check in early and late due to my daughter’s nap time, and he even gave us some of his freshly caught fish (which he filleted at the bach).
The beach is great for kids, as it’s shallow at low tide and is easy for little kids to splash and play!

The perfect spot
We stayed in Pah Beach for our wedding, which we had right across the road on the beach. This place is in the perfect spot - beach, cafe, shop, pub all right next door.
Brent is a fantastic host and owner. He went above and beyond for us while we were there, and no request was too hard.
Best holiday/honeymoon! Will definitely be back.

Perfection
Could not have asked for a better location, next to the pub, great coffee, and the greatest little market. The house was cozy with a great fireplace during the rainy winter evenings. We cooked dinners and were very comfortable. Such a nice stay!

Great Barrier holiday
Even though we were delayed by one day both Brent and Grant were very accommodating. The house is comfortable and well fitted out. We enjoyed using the bbq and views from the deck of the beautiful pah beach. Living 50 yards from the cafe, shop and pub made our stay so easy, Great Pizza and beer at the pub. Special thanks to Grant for going out of his way to help us at the end of our stay.

The perfect Spot
This house was everything I hoped it would be. It was warm & inviting, comfortable and clean, had all the mod cons you need, in a fantastic location. The beach across the road and the shop, pub and cafe across the other road. I was worried the pub might be noisy, but we didn't hear a thing.
Brent kept in contact with us even though he wasn't on the island. Grant, who was managing the place was very helpful with everything. A huge big thanks to Brent for letting us stay another night when we were stranded with no planes flying out and lockdown. You saved us alot of stress.
Overall, we loved the place and we will definitely be back.

Perfect stay at Tryphena
We loved our time at Brent’s place. Firstly, he was an amazing host and answered all our questions pre arrival. The house is extremely well appointed and he was very flexible with check in and out times.
The location is amazing, opposite a beautifully clear and very calm swimming beach, with a great store (only thing we brought over, or needed to was meat) and pub across the road.
Will hopefully be back to enjoy again sometime soon.

Fantastic location, beautiful beach, private but close to local amenities.
A wonderful property with a fantastic host! Very conveniently situated close to the local shops, pub and restaurant yet it was private. Just across the road was a beautiful beach, great for the kids to swim. We couldn’t have chosen a better spot to spend our time on the Barrier.

Excellent Holiday Home Away from Home
We had a wonderful 4 days at this spacious waterfront property. Brent (the owner) is an amazing host who let us checked in early at 8.30 am, and checked out late at 3-4pm without extra cost.
He came to check on us everyday to make sure we were ok or needed anything.
The house was very clean, spaces and beds very comfortable.
An Irish Bar right across the road and so as a little well stocked dairy/mini supermarket.
Thank you Brent for being a great host.

Perfect Accommodation
We had a group of 5 on a fishing trip & the house was a perfect fit for us. BBQ on the front deck to cater for the day's catch + a well appointed kitchen with all the pantry items needed to feel at home.
Brent was really helpful in helping us out on Day 1, getting any extra items (e.g. esky/containers for our fish) needed as we settled in.
The location was ideal for us. 15 minute drive to Tryphena Wharf, but directly opposite the local pub & general store. The pub does a great pizza and each night we visited, live music with impromptu audience/staff performances made for entertaining evenings.
Overall we had an awesome stay - the fishing was amazing & the house lived up to expectations. I reviewed all of the houses available to rent & from what we saw on the island - we make the right choice. Thanks to Brent and his partner for their hospitality - just a shame he lost on the Whiskey challenge to an Aussie :-)
