Clifftop bungalow with beautiful ocean views

  • This cozy 1 bed, 1 bath bungalow provides the perfect retreat while located just a mile south of Gregory Town's center. Fall asleep to sounds of the ocean, and wake up to beautiful ocean views without even getting out of bed.
    There is a loft space above the queen size bed for storing luggage or whatever else you might like to tuck away. The walkthrough bathroom leads into a small kitchen fully equipped with everything you'll need to prepare your own meals. Exit through the kitchen to find an enclosed outdoor, hot water shower. The back entrance provides the perfect solution for rinsing off the salt and sand before coming in from a day at the beach.
    The bungalow does have air conditioning for those hot Bahamian days, or you also have the option of screen doors and ceiling fans when it's a little cooler out.
    Our entire property is solar powered, so when it comes to electricity, we are completely off-grid. We ask that you please conserve energy whenever possible by making sure to turn off all inside lights, fans and A/C each time you leave the bungalow.
    The bungalow is connected to city water, but for those days when the city water may go out, we'll always have a full water tank on reserve for our guests.
    Our property consists of just under 5 acres of land stretching from The Queen's Highway to the cliffs overlooking the beautiful turquoise waters of Exuma Sound. While bush, cactus, palmettos, and rocks line most of the cliff's edge, there is no actual fence or wall. There is an 80 foot straight drop from the cliff to the ocean below. For this reason, children under 18 will not be permitted on the property. All renters must be at least 25 years of age. Because of our clifftop location, there is no direct access to the water from our property. The famous Surfer's Beach is the closet beach to the bungalow, located just under 2 miles south. Gaulding Cay Beach is about 3.5 miles north.
    From our property, it's about a 25 minute drive north to the North Eleuthera Airport, and it's about a 30 minute drive south to Governor's Harbour Airport.

    *Rental car is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for our location.
    *Please do not use drones on the property.

The hosts were very accommodating to all of our needs and questions! Thoughtful details were put into this and provided, beach chairs, umbrella, seasonings and basics for cooking. The view is spectacular, sunset view from the bed! The energy here is top notch and the A frame is an inspirational design for anyone interested in off grid living! Looking forward to coming back!

Wonderful stay

I truly can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Eluthera. The hosts, Molly and Robert, are kind and communicative. The setting is absolutely stunning. The ocean views are better than one can imagine. When we come to Eluthera again, we won’t hesitate to book here!

Great spot overlooking the sea

What a cozy A-frame this is - just right for two people. It contained everything we needed, except a microwave would have been nice. Other than that, the kitchen was fully equipped with a great selection of spices, oil and condiments, pots, pans and dishes. They provided plenty of drinking water and there was even suntan lotion, bug spray, beach towels, etc. They were thorough and thoughtful in what they provided for us to use. Molly and Robert were easy with which to communicate. We really enjoyed our stay!

Gem in paradise!

One of the top houses we have ever rented! This little aframe is right on the cliff above the water with a magnificent view, where we sat and had our coffee and sundowners everyday. The pictures don’t do the view justice. The interior was spotless and every little detail thought of even for a small space. The shower was amazing outside under the stars! Location is top top, an easy walk to Gregory Town with a beautiful harbour and several great local watering holes. We did the entire island and this is the best location because you can easily drive south to Governors Harbor or north to Preacher’s Cave and Spanish Wells. Very central and right by the impressive glass window bridge. Stunning. We will definitely be coming back and give this little gem my highest recommendation if you are considering Eleuthera!

Great Cliff Top Cottage

The owners were great, and respected privacy. The cottage was well furnished and looked great. The view was spectacular; we saw sea turtles and sting rays from the outdoor patio on the cliff. Definitely would recommend to others and wild stay again!

Absolutely perfect!!

The house was exactly as described. Everything about it was so thoughtfully planned out. It is beautifully decorated, and included everything you need for an island getaway… beach chairs, towels and an umbrella. A beach bag and soft cooler. Guide books on the beaches, birds and flowers. Headlamps. Games… you name it, they thought of it! The kitchen was also very well equipped. The outdoor shower was great. I can’t say enough about how fantastic it was! Absolutely perfect for two people. Molly was extremely responsive, and helpful with all of our questions. We can’t wait to come back!

Didn't Want To Go!!

We had a fantastic time staying at the Clifftop Bungalow. Molly and Robert were excellent hosts. They have spoiled us for future VRBO stays! This beautiful and sustainably focused property including the above water deck was amazing! The bungalow was beautiful, comfortable, clean and stylish. The kitchen was incredibly thoughtfully stocked. We so appreciated having beach hang supplies. Morning coffee on the deck watching sea turtles and evening sunsets were the best! As other guests have mentioned, it's easy not to want to leave the property. AND there is so much incredible exploring to be done! We are absolutely wanting to stay here again! Thank you to Molly and Robert!

Amazing Cabin

Perfect

For a couple looking for a private, simple, restful holiday in a stunningly beautiful location, at a very reasonable price, this is perfect. We ate breakfast every morning in the sun on the little platform on the edge of the cliff, watching the turtles periodically surfacing below. Taking a shower in the outdoor shower, with the sun streaming through the open roof, or while watching the stars (no light pollution here!), was exhilarating. You do need a car to make the most of this place, as there are so many fantastic beaches to explore. In particular, Ben Bay, which is a little tricky to find, is the nicest, most intimate beach I've ever been to, and there were only two other people there. But Gregory Town is very close and we ran there a couple of mornings. It is very quaint and relaxed with friendly locals. It has a pretty harbour and a post office and an excellent souvenir shop of Bahamian made gifts and crafts. And Monica's Dis and Dat, which is famous for pineapple tarts (only $1.35 each). If I stayed longer and had a nice calm day I would look into renting a kayak in Gregory Town and paddling back to the rocks below Molly's place to watch the turtles close up. We had a great meal at the Cove Resort a short drive away, and a truly stellar meal at Sip Sip on Harbour Island. Molly was wonderful to deal with. I'll stop at that but I can't say enough about Eleuthera and this place!

Fabulous setting

Molly and Roberts compound is just great. Views from the decks were top notch. The guest house was very well equipped. The outdoor shower worked well and we loved taking that shower at night staring up so the moon and the stars. I must commend the motion detection site lighting and the expert sheet rocking done in the guest house. Really a lovely compound. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars to location was due to the relative distances to central and southern island attractions.

Cute, Eco A-Frame with Amazing Views!

The bungalow was amazing! The A-frame is situated right on the cliffs of the Grand Bahama Bank, so offers spectacular views of the ocean all day long (including sea turtles in the mornings!!). The house is very cute, with a living space, bed alcove, small bath, and kitchen. The shower is outdoors and has an open roof, which makes for great star viewing when taking a nighttime shower! The place is run on solar power, too. Robert and Molly are excellent hosts - good communication and directions, great local tips, and good amenities provided. The location is very close to Gregory Town. If you're in Eleuthera for surfing, its an excellent location (very close to Surfer's Beach). We stuck to mostly Northern Eleuthera locations during our stay, which made the bungalow perfect for us. But the drive to the southern end of the island was only about 2.5 hours, so doable for a day trip. We loved this place and will definitely look for it again when we return to Bahamas!!

Perfect Getaway

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The bungalow was perfect for us and Molly could not have been nicer! Great location if you don’t like being in a resort setting. Right outside Gregory Town and great beaches nearby. Exactly the getaway we were looking for! Will definitely be staying here/renting from Robert and Molly again!

Adorable bungalow with unbeatable views

We loved our stay at Molly and Robert's property. The cabin is clean, thoughtfully decorated, and has everything you might need: drinking water, coffee maker, kitchen tools, guide books, etc. The outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach and we were grateful that beach towels/chairs/umbrella were provided. Drinking coffee on the deck, watching sea turtles swim below, was the best way to start the day and we got more than a few gorgeous sunsets, too! We hope to come back!

Can't wait to get back to "The Village".

This utterly charming "off-the-beaten- path" house offers private cliff-side ocean views with stunning sunrises, late night star scapes and sublime sunsets. The hosts here provide all that one needs for an easy peasy stay in this simply charming and aesthetically relaxing hideaway. Nearby Gregory Town offers modest food shops and friendly restaurants. This was a perfect getaway for me to rest and write, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of this island's nature. Thank you Molly and Robert. See you next year.

Close to nature

Unbelievable experience. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of this trip and the bungalow was unforgettable. The first night there was a storm and we slept peacefully listening to the wind and rain all night. The bungalow has everything you need and the outdoor shower was so perfect. We ate breakfast on the deck every morning. We got to see a beautiful sea turtle on our last morning. What a view! The pineapple garden is really neat too. This trip and this style of accommodations is a dream come true of mine.

Private Paradise

This is the most unique, private, cozy home surrounded by immeasurable beauty that I have ever experienced! Everything we needed was provided, plus additional items that we had not anticipated (e.g., headlamps). The owners, Molly and Robert, are friendly and highly responsive. Peaceful getaway with knockout view

This was the perfect place for a truly peaceful island retreat. It is the best of both worlds with an off the grid experience but with excellent internet so we could check weather and research beaches and places to eat. The view of the Caribbean is amazing and the sunsets never let us down. Molly and Richard are great hosts ready with great island info even before we got there and then melted into the background until we needed them. You kind of feel like you have this island to yourself. We would joyfully come back and stay with them again!

“This a a little piece of Eden. What we were seeking in our first visit to Eleuthera””

It was fun to participate in the owner’s ongoing vision for developing this property. The bungalow met and exceeded every desired need and expectation during our 4-day stay. We reveled in the simple yet functional design and attention to detail provided by our hosts Robert and Molly. The private cliff-top location is likely (for me) the most beautiful sea-side respite I’ve ever stayed in to date ! (Such a powerful yet peaceful location. It sort of “tolorates” the human stewards who pass through here to witness the huge vistas and changing light conditions :) While the tempting waters beconing below this 80’ cliff are inaccessible, you are still very close to some of the best beaches, towns, stores, restaurants, etc. Just moments away... Thank You !

Amazing place for a perfect vacation!

Molly and Robert's place was absolutely perfect. In the morning we'd drink our coffee looking down at turtles and at night we'd fall asleep to the ocean. Molly and Robert are excellent hosts and were very helpful- they even let us borrow their phone to make a reservation. Molly made some excellent recommendations about local beaches and restaurants that really made our trip special. Do not think twice about booking this bungalow. We fell in love with Eleuthera and had a fantastic time!
