I took a chance and booked us a location that was off the touristy spot where all the big hotels were - so glad I did - VUE is a hidden gem. We took to walking around the Hutong neighborhoods right away, my father loved his morning walks in Houhai Park which was right behind the hotel. "Quick Note from My Hutong Hideaway Just left the tiny hotel tucked in Nanluoguxiang—still smiling. Free coffee, cookies, and afternoon tea on tap. The front desk felt like a mini-UN: English flowed, and they snagged me Forbidden-City tickets in two minutes. Handed over dirty laundry at breakfast; it came back clean and folded at dusk—zero charge. Mattress = cloud, pillow = marshmallow, sleep = instant. Warmest little base in Beijing—see you next time. "The hotel is quite tired and in need of some maintenance. Sound proofing from outside noise is good, not so good for between rooms. Having said that the linen and towels were clean and fresh water bottles were provided each day. I would stay there again for the great location and excellent nearby restaurants."

Without his help, my kids will be very sad... he even called to get the address, directions and everything for us! The rooms were clean! Always new and fresh towels every single day.
